wtf "- Clay Guida uses strong wrestling, not lay-n-pray, to defeat Anthony Pettis" he didn't even try to pass his guard i think thats a wrestling fail pettis did alot more in that fight submission attempt good solid punches from the bottom like come on yea he won but lost me as a fan most exciting fighter my ass guida needs a new saying after that fight he went in there to win not to finish him but thats the greg jackson way
To be fair, Guida is aggressive and always goes for the finish and Pettis' BJJ is dangerous.
Now, Clay got side control twice but failed to do anything with it and his GNP was nonexistent. I don't know if Guida did have LNPing as a strategy for this fight but he did a fantastic job at defending Anthony's submissions and ducking underneath his crisp striking.
Overall, I thought Guida won the fight -- not a dominant performance nor an impressive one but...
That 20 greatest pre-zuffa fighters is worth a look, guys.
