Lyoto Machida says "it was not Minotauro's day"
Posted on February 23, 2010, 06:44 AM by Anton GurevichUFC Light Heavyweight Champion, undefeated Lyoto Machida, stated that his idol Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira simply had a bad day at the main event of UFC 110 in Australia. Machida, who trains alongside Minotauro Nogueira in the elite Blackhouse Gym, discussed the event in his interview to TATAME.com:
"Unfortunately, it wasn’t his day. Cain is very well and hit it in the spot. MMA is like that; you can win or lose in seconds. I was very sad with Minotauro’s loss, because I know he worked hard to this fight. But I liked the Wanderlei Silva fight, always in his aggressive style, fighting forward. He defeated Michael Bisping, and he really deserved it."
Lyoto Machida will face Shogun Rua at UFC 113, in a UFC 104 main event rematch for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title. According to the reports, Lyoto Machida has fully recovered from injuries and is ready to begin his preparations for the fight against Rua.

Whatever...
agreed
In the typical Lyoto "GO BRASIL"
Ready for his rematch, hows that hand & ribs Lyoto?
"I was very sad with Minotauro’s loss, because I know he worked hard to this fight" if he trained so hard why wasnt it his day?
machida but ever surprises me, great fighter and great man with the right words, erance style karate, lyoto rooting for venca street. BRAZIL WORLD'S MAJOR MMA
Lyoto will win the rematch I predict. He'll probably be more aggressive, and he'll be prepared for those leg kicks next time. Rua just came with a great strategy last time, and Lyoto wasn't prepared for it. He's so disciplined though, it's hard to believe he won't have adapted.
I agree completely, machida as prepared as this will keep this title for long.
I don't think so, Shogun is back, like he used to be in Pride, he was unstoppable and I'm afraid Machida is going to get his second loss of his career on ufc 113
Why do people think that Shogun isn't going to work on his strategy? This fight will be as great as the last one and will show us who clearly is the champion.
Yeah I've seen an interview with Shogun that was done just after the fight where he was saying that he was going to surprise Machida again.
He will. Of course he will. That doesn't change the fact that the whole in Machida's game was leg kicks from a standoffish opponent. What other holes are there? Subtract the Rua fight, and Lyoto gets struck about once every 2.5 rounds.
Lyoto AKA Captain Obvious
He will be better preped and will out strike shogun in the rematch. I admire Lyoto a lot he has good character, and is well spoken.
I like Rua but I think Machida will make a better champion overall. He is more skilled at this point in his career. His discipline is admirable to say the least
Machida is my favorite fighter ! He is a nice person ! He even complimentate wanderlei even if wand said he lost to shogun ....
Machida says what he thinks ! its greeat
lyotu Lachida NEEDS TO SHUT THE FOCK UP!!
JUST SHUT THE **** UP,
THAT FOCKING BELT IS RUA'S BELT...
you need to STFU and go suck on a lemon
go suck on a lemon?!
wow! OHH KEEEE!!
o_O
Machida is great MMA fighter!
hes respectful and honest
humble and dicipline!
but hes to elusive! and moves back a lot
a fighter in this game must provide enterteiment to his fans!
i admire lyoto a lot!
but shogun has the heart of a warrior and his fights in Pride were some of the best fights i ever seen!
Alot of Machida lovers here, lets be honest Machida lost the fight with Rua convincely, and im picking Rua in the rematch I believe he is the best LHW in the world with his knee healthy. I look at it this way the better fighter should win no matter how many rematches, if Sanchez fought Penn again do you think Sanchez would be favored cause he work a game plan out off his last fight with Penn. No Every one would bet on Penn. My case with Rua Machida I just hope i dosent come down to another decesion.
i agree!! i think rua won the first fight and is able to finish the second!! he is maybe the completes lhw in the world!!! after injuries he is on the way back!!! dont think the gameplans of both fighters will be very different to the last fight! rua must be more agressive because he dont want to hear a decision and thats dangerous because machida is the best counter puncher!!! but i hope rua will make it this time!!!
