Junior Dos Santos will enter the Octagon in Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada as #2 ranked Heavyweight on LowKick.com Community rankings. Dos Santos's opponent, Shane Carwin, is currently ranked on #5, behind Brock Lesnar (Cigano's original opponent) and the Strikeforce Heavyweght Champion Alistair Overeem. Speaking about Overeem, the Dutch powerhouse is ranked #3, as his July 18th opponent, Fabricio Werdum, is currently occupying the 6th spot.

If Shane Carwin is victorious against Junior Dos Santos on Saturday, and Fabricio Werdum manages to upset Alistair Overeem, then both fighters are expected to form the Heavyweight Top 3 on LowKick.com Community rankings.

Also in the rankings, following his defeat at TUF 13 Finale, former WEC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis dropped two places to number 6, as the victorious Clay Guida solidified his place in Top 10, and is currently ranked on #8. As for UFC 130's influence on the rankings, it looks like LowKick.com Community was not impressed with Rampage Jackson's performance against Matt Hamill. The A Team star dropped one place to #5 in Light Heavyweight Rankings, comparing to #4 in April.

Rankings will be re-opened again n June 21st, three days after the long anticipated Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum event in Dallas, Texas. Feel free to visit the rankings section for Pound for Pound rankings for June 5th, as well as for other weight classes.

Would it not be easier to just simply made the rankings monthly? instead of randoms dates like June 21. I mean there is a gap of what 17 days on the rankings. why not just make June Ranks and then July Ranks and on and on. Just my 2 cents.

    that would be great!

    way easier and more simple

and since there sat least 2 - 4 MMA events every month

the rankings would fit great to change every 30 days!!

machida loses twice (3 times according to some) and then beats a spent randy couture, he comes fourth

shogun gets dominated utterly by jones yet stays second, despite the fact that most people who lose title fights drop to fourth or fifth as a rule of thumb

rampage wins against machida, then dominates hammil, and drops a place??

forrest beats rich franklin well (a better opponent than hammil OR couture) and already had a win over tito and hes seventh...i really dont understand some of these..

These ranking are fan based. I don't like them either because any hick from the south can rank Rampage as first because he has some highlight reel KO's in his career, which doesn't make sense at all.

Rashad beat Rampage, but lost to Machida. Rampage beat Machida, but lost to Rashad. It's a perfect circle of MMA math.

I am not so certain how true your assertion that 'most people', champs, drop to fourth or fifth place.

It is not easy judging fighters who have actually fought each other, let alone fighters from different promotions.

Exact rankings are a myth and rankings are always debateable and ever-changing.

the cycle of mma math ur talking about doesnt apply, because of the time frame...machida beat rashad about 27 years ago, and since then hes gone 2-2...rashad deserves to be second because he beat thiago and rampage and did it well, and rampage has gone 2-0 since his loss to rashad, which includes a win against machida...i personally i think it should be

    jones

    rashad

    rampage

    shogun (or machida)

    machida (or shogun)

and as for champs losing title fights, think of it this way...since the rankings began, machida lost his title (got KTFO) and dropped to fourth as far as i remember...penn lost, then lost again and looked sluggish, he drops to about fifth before moving to WW....brock lost in devastating fashion and he dropped to about 7th, mostly because ppl were looking for an excuse to ridicule him i admit....then shogun, the pride superstar get absaloutly f****d by jones, so badly that if shogun wasnt so respected ppl wood have called it embarrasing, and yet he stays second...doesnt seem acurate to me, especially given shoguns ridiculous inconsistency since hes come to the ufc, but maybe im wrong...
