where do you see yourself in the WW division?
Would you like to get a rematch with hardy?
We you asked to appear in the movie The Departed
That would have been awesome 222. I believe I saw Don Frye in Public Enemies. Just standing around looking tough with his mustache.
how did you manage to not get knocked out until ben saunders
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! now thats funny
1) Is there any bad blood left with Hardy?
I assume that was finished after the fight, but sometimes not..
2) How is your height compared to your division, have you even considered going to a division where your height is as tall as anyone else?
reach and height matters
Oh and Marcus ! I've always seen you as the" Irish Hand Grenade", screw Hardy lol
After lossing to Joe Stevenson on TUF 2 you said you will retire, what made you continue doing mma?
After your victory against Jonathan Goulet at 113, you mentioned your training camp in Waterford. Being from Ireland myself, how do you rate the development of MMA over here, and do you train here often?
have you got any bad blood towards diaz and if so why?
I also am from Ireland and am a huge fan. When you fought Lytle here in Ireland it seemed you were really letting it all hang out do or die style as it was one of the best fights the UFC has given us. Will you ever do that again or was it just stylisticly a good option?
Im from Ireland also, I seen you wore a Waterford GAA Jersey to the weigh-ins against Goulet. Do you have family there? or whats the special connection to the City? - Keep Representing! We all love you here.
do u think you will get another with hardy and do u think you can beat the guy
hardy is gunna take carlos conduit out
are you really irish?
75% of whites you see today in the USA came from England, myself included in the 1500s(ancestors)
Its really not hard to believe at all.
they came from ireland not england... during the famine over here almost the whole population emegrated to america
My ancestors are originally from Wales land of windmills.....I saw a chicks tattoo one time and it said "Where there's a mill, there's a road".
Pretty cool unless you didn't know what they meant by mill...I had to think at first, I was thinking more American like a saw mill or something, then I realized somefriggin how...how I don't know.
You're an old guy Hype, damn.
You bet sonny lol
the furryy are you really a complete jackass???
When are you coming back to Ireland to train and do a few seminars again?
Hardy seemed to really get under your skin both before and after the fight. Did you learn any lessons about how not to react to trash talk from that fight?
do you picture yourself in a title fight in the near future?
and have you ever consider changing weight classes?
Would you ever fight James Toney for the rights to the "lights out" nickname?
Intersting matchup to considering you two are former boxers too.
come on dude wow
Isnt that Chris Lytle nickname, Marcus Davis nickname is the Irish Hand Grenade.
They're around the same height and could fight at a catch weight of maybe 190lbs. It could be a good fight.
James Tony wont even go to 205 right now, so 190 is highly unlikely
Why did you make the switch from pro boxing to mma?
Would you ever consider moving to LW? Could you even make the 155 weight?
unlikely i would say. he used to box at 200lbs and dropped significant weight when he switched to MMA.
What made you initially take up boxing?
Do you want your kids to also become professional fighters when they grow up?
Whats your diet like when training?
during your time on TUF 2, you said you were close to retirement, what made you keep fighting at the time, and what inspires you to keep fighting today?
1) In my opinion, your split decision loss to Dan Hardy was one of the worst decisions in recent memory. Other recent controversial decisions (e.g. Penn vs Edgar and Machida vs Rua) have resulted in immediate rematches. Did the UFC give you a reason for not awarding you an immediate rematch with Dan Hardy? Does it bother you that this decision resulted in Hardy going on to get a title shot in his second next fight, knowing that it could just as easily have been you had the judges scored the fight differently?
2) How long did it take after your transition from boxing to MMA before you felt like a mixed martial artist and not a boxer fighting in MMA? Was it a gradual process? Or was there a particular moment/fight?
best question
In the fight bizz, how do you feel about other fighters saying the word fag/****? Do you us it yourself?
where do you see yourself in the ww division with a win over nate diaz?
Marcus Davis is one of my favorite fighters to watch, the smaller strikers are fast and exciting. I would ask Marcus if he agrees with the common conception that pro-Boxers are superior to MMA fighters when it comes to their hands? Or is it simply a matter of Boxers being able to look more graceful within the confines of such a narrow scope of competition? Does MMA-adapted boxing simply look clumsy by comparison because the fighters have to defend everything else while they strike? It doesn't appear that the superiority of boxing pans out when you look at the few successful boxers who have attempted to transition. Dennis Siver (German kick-boxing champion) was beaten standing by MMA rookie Ross Pearson. Koscheck had no trouble getting the better of Paul Daley standing. Also the Paul Kelly vs Paul Taylor fight was exciting, one of the best opening round exchanges ever. A kick-boxing champion (Taylor), versus a rounded MMA fighter, but their hands appeared to be largely even. It was Kelly's first UFC fight, and he didn't appear to be outclassed on the feet by his experienced kickboxing champion opponent. I think there are far more examples of one-dimensional boxers failing in MMA, including against standing-oriented fighters, than there are of pro-Boxers coming in and demonstrating the superiority of their hands.
James Toney will be the most accomplished boxer to ever put his money where his mouth is when he fights Randy. While Arlovski wants to transition in the opposite direction, he wants to box the Kiltschko brothers.
So here's my question. Which of the two fighters has a better chance to be successful after moving over? Andrei in boxing? Or, Toney in MMA? Are boxers that much more effective with their hands? Or is it just a matter of the styles and technique being visually different?
P.S. Nate is going to lose. The Diaz brothers land a lot, but the punches have got nothing on them.
marcus how much can u bench?..
Davis do you think after you retire you will try to open a number of training facilities in Ireland to promote mma over here?
Did the outlaw take you off your game plan with all the trash talk running up to the fight?
