I really think he could shell up against Rua, push him up against the cage and control/use his dirty boxing on him for a bit but the big issue here would be if he's still explosive enough to take him down. If he could get him on his back I really think Couture would have a chance but if not it'd be a matter of time in a 5 round fight until he got caught and tko'd

I'm not so sure he would have to take him down. Randy will always have a chance because let's face it, the UFC throws him title fights all the time! Nah but seriously Randy has a style of fighting that can make anyone look bad. The guy is a beast. His problem is that chin. I'm sure it has to be hard to take a shot when you get that old. I'm always going to root for him though.

He would get KO'd by Rua and if he ever tries HW again he would get KO'd by Cain or Dos Santos

This is MMA and anything is possible. Look at what happened to Todd Duffee! Look at Anderson's amazing last minute sub....there are many more inconceivable examples of people beating the odds and Randy is king of doing that. He went in against Brock Lesnar and actually controlled him for a period in that fight. He also beat a young stud in Brandon Vera. He has as good a chance of being made a fool of as he has of shocking the world.....again.

If belfort beats silva I think randy could have a shot at beating belfort.

If he could make weight.... guess its harder when your older. I dont think he has a chance against most of the LHW guys

I agree, if he had to climb the ladder to get a shot, I dont think he'd make it through the guys he would have to fight to get there. BUT certain matchups are good for Randy and it would depend who has the top spot if given a shot. Its a little too much to think he can again.

    Randy, Respect

lhw and hw have become too good

i still have randy in the top 10, but it's those top 2 or 3 in each division that i'm not confident he can get past

always will be one of my faves though

It depends on what the ufc feeds him, but I still highly doubt he could become a champion again.

90 percent of people who voted yes like my self done it on the pure fact hes done it before although he wasnt this old last time. i cant see him winnning a belt bcuz he wud have to have a few more fights agasint top guys and he ent got tht in him. but if he got thrown a title shot straight away he has potential to fight any one in the ufc and have the crodentials to win.

There are fighters at 205 he could or might beat.

I personally think he would stand a decent shot against Cain. He certainly wouldn't go down the way Lesnar did. Randy is a stud.

However, I think Randy wants out and the question is probably not could he make a run at it and be successful, but rather, is he or would he be interested in defending it. And I think the clear answer to that is no. I could see him winning it and retiring; going out on top. It's part of the reason I think he would have been a good choice for Cain's first defense. It would be a big draw between two great fighters; the old and the young; the vet and the new "man". If Randy won he could retire and on top. If he lost he could retire and go out in a blaze of glory. What an ending that would make for Rand's highlight reel. And Cain is certainly not too big, for RC.

I know one thing for sure, it disheartened me to hear of RC's last couple of fights referred to as "novelty" fights. I don't want any more novelty fights for Randy.

Man WingChun. Putting him up against Cain? You are trying to get the man killed haha.

I think he could pull it off. I'm not saying he'd win, but he would have a legitimate shot at it...and then retire, either way. It would be a heck of a send off.

    @WingChun

Randy definitely has a shot. I just don't think he would be able to get close to Cain. Without the clinch I'm not sure Randy would be able to do much. But... I've counted Randy out before and he has proved me wrong.

each and every fight is just that; a fight.

In any fight either can "some" chance of winning.

Rady's chances against Jones are slim

    against Bader a little better

against some of the senior tour his chances are better than 50-50 at any time

against those in between the seniors and the two young stars

his chances are at least 50-50

Randy would vote no on this pole. for him the question is no longer can I become a champion, it has become do i want to make another run at becoming the champion. he has already said no to that in several interviews. it seems to me that he has begun to shift his efforts to his acting career and continuing to be an MMA analyst.

cmon....not even if this were a movie could Randy end up becoming champ again. Rocky didnt win the title in the Rocky movie, so neither will Randy....especially since this is reality. You can do better then this, Anton

Theres no point of Randy even trying to make a title run hes a good 3-5 fights away from that. Just give him fan-made fights its what hes been doing, Coleman & Toney.

    Couture vs Fedor!!!
