Liddell is not ruling out a fight against James "Lights Out" Toney

“I don’t know (laughing). I’ll have to talk to Dana about what’s going on, I don’t know what he’s doing. He’s got something planned. Toney’s at least coming from a boxing background and it will be interesting to see how much MMA he did and who they match him up with. I’m just hoping if they bring him in he’s gonna come in running his mouth about MMA and MMA fighter being bad and I hope they put him against somebody good so they will crush him.”
He also spoke about the possible Toney-Couture fight, saying:
“James has got one shot at beating him and that’s catching him with a punch coming in. Once he gets tied up it’s over. I would love that fight. You would actually see me hit a double and put him on his head. You might actually see me get a submission in the UFC. I might play with him for a little bit and put him in an arm bar or something.”
Despite not fighting since UFC 97, it's no secret he is desperate to reclaim the form that saw him capture the Light Heavyweight belt twice, and this is easily a match many would love to see, and one I would prefer to see Toney fight either Kimbo or Couture.

toney needs to feel the pain.i like toney and hes got a good chance to ,make it in the ufc but he needs to take this more seriously...he is a hell good boxer and with a good ground game he would be unstoppable,so lets see him get his ass beat and work for this
liddell mite actually lose this fight, going toe-to-toe wit a professional boxer mite result in a ko loss for liddell
liddell like to stand so im not sure if liddell would win this aswell, unless he takes him down. stand up chuck will get ROCKED worst than what Rashad did....... if i were u liddell get some wins under your belt again then take a fight wit toney
I've got to agree with Ninja and comonson. Chuck usually loses to anyone with hands. He might beat Tito but I think almost everyone is a bad matchup for Chuck now.
I wonder how it must feel being the Iceman knocking out everyone easily, and then not being able to KO anybody it must be a feeling he misses. I would love to see him KO Toney but the smart fighter would take him down.

chuck doesn't have much of a ground game, his kicking is below average.. i mean if he stands and brawls with toney, maybe toney will end up knocking him out just like rampage and rashad did... and chuck is a pretty well known fighter, even though hes not great alot of people who don't know much about mma think he is strong, we don't want ppl thinking a boxer beat a mma fighter.
By the time this fool quits running his no speaking blubber lips, EVERYONE will happily step in the shut him up.
I keep seeing him talk thinking maybe the next clip will actually show some respect, but it never happens.
When he loses, mark my words he'll keep running his mouth about how people are afraid to stand with him.

For Toney!! Dana will never let it happen. Chuck cant take him down fast enough. Toney will hurt him and Dana knows that
this could be bad...chuck bas been knocked out hard in his last few fights. if he stands with toney, there is a good chance toney can knock him out. i was hoping toney would face some viscious ground fighter like gonzaga

chuck always fights with punches. if he changes his gameplan, it's because he doesn't have faith in his bread and butter. i thought he was a puss for taking vanderlei down and i think he would be a puss for taking toney down. it's not his style and it's not what made the iceman who he is. i don't think he can knock out toney, but i'd like to see him try. taking toney down and submitting him is not exciting. i actually don't like seeing james toney starting at the top of mma. he should fight someone with little experience like hershal walker did.

Even though Liddel doesn't use it in all of his fights, he would have still be training his jitz for all those years. Infact, that would be even more of an embarrassment for Toney. To come to MMA, Fight one of the biggest names in the UFC, who is also a striker, and get submitted...
this is NOT something I would pay to see...2 has-beens in an MMA "fight"...I can't stand Liddell but lets face facts...Chuck would KO Toney in the first round...there arent gonna be 2 inch thick boxing gloves coverin their hands..Toney really has no clue wat he's in for...if this happens...it would be his first and last MMA fight.
