Liddell: I don't know why Tito Ortiz still wants to fight
Posted on April 3, 2012, 05:16 AM by Anton GurevichUFC Hall of Famer Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell spoke about a number of topics, such as Dana White's recent comparison to Junior dos Santos, upcoming grudge match between Jon Jones and Rashad Evans at UFC 145, and Tito Ortiz's last crusade against Forrest Griffin. Liddell didn't seem too excited about getting compared to JDS, but still complimented the reigning Heavyweight champ for having heavy hands and the ability to put people to sleep.
Ortiz quote at 1:15:
"To be honest, Tito looked horrible in his last couple of fights. I don't know why he still wants to fight. But, whatever. Good luck. I hope he does well and it's a good fight. Both guys had good fights in the past, so I hope it's going to be entertaining for the fans."

I dont like Tito either but he didnt look horrible whatsoever in his last fights chuck...
Chuck you re just jealous. i wish Tito "people champ" Ortiz would take advantage of your glass jaw and knock you out
really he hasnt looked horrible? hes won 1 fight in the last 5-6 years and got tkod in his last 2 fights...
didnt look great either but Chuck looked like craphis last few fights
is why Dana begged his friend to stop
You have it backwards. Chuck is cool and Tito is a drama queen who cant stand to fade away.
go watch titos last fight against nogueira (who was coming off 2 losses), then try and tell me he hasnt looked horrible natedog
styles make fights, and ortiz cant shoot that well anymore. lil nog is bad against wrestlers, so the only thing ortiz could do was box, which was nogs advantage(pan american medalist). and ortizes fight against bader was.. bad?
Neither do we Chuck, neither do we.....
You wanna know why he keeps doing it? Take a look at the overall UFC payroll from 2011.
Its probably a sore spot to him seeing his wife's royalty checks coming in daily from laying on her back. Tito is just making sure he keeps getting his royalty checks from laying on his back too.(that was wrong no?)
"He knocked bader out too". He finished him with a guillotine. The knockdown was impressive though.
Tito and KO are not compatible.
i said fights..
The last one was quik and maybe like you call it horrible.
But going with evans, griffin, machida to decision is far away from horrible.
He even submitted Bader who won vs Nogueira...
Liddell on his side looked really horrible in his last 3 fights!
What i am trying to say is, "keep it classy" even though he is a legend in the sport.
He did not look bad against Franklin at all.
Knee to the chest plate wasn't a decision Mr.Wonder Charles Keller
Rich Franklin got lucky as hell in Liddel's last fight. He did catch Chuck with 5 seconds left in the round. But if that round had ended there's no way Rich would have come out for the 2nd. With that nasty forarm that Chuck broke in half with a high kick. Plus Chuck looked in the best shape we've ever seen him for that fight. It was just terrible luck. And him rushing in for the kill when there was only a few seconds left. If he'd known the time, he probably could've just let the round end. And take the victory.
Throwing a punch to hurt someone and knocking them out is not luck.
If he was looking the other way and flailed his right arm in the air and connected, that would be luck. I remember that fight being pretty even until Chuck went to sleep. Franklin does pretty good concidering he fights maybe once a year.
yeah he was dominating until he got caught. he almost knocked out franklin too
When a man gets a payout like TIto after each fight, sure the losses hurt but I think the money more than makes up for it.
he wants to keep fighting exactly for the same reason you wanted to keep fighting as well... FYI you both have the exact same record on your last 6 fights... maybe he just wants to retire with a win... I dont know
Ice Man is a Legend... But his style wasn't ever near to the MMA boxing style of JDS.. The results were the same on the K.O wins, but only that..
And Tito sucks.
Its hard to remember, but there was a time Tito was the man. He was the small Mark Coleman who made his mark when powerful wrestlers dominated. He paid his dues, but I still cringe hearing him talk now days.
Tito had some exiting fights back in the day, but I think that mma as a whole has left him behind. He still has tons of fans though; which means that as long as he wants to do this; people will pay to see him do it, win our lose.
cause tito is like 1-9 for for the last 4 years. how could someone with a record that good want to hang up the gloves??
Chuck can't really talk about fighters carrying on fighting when they should 'hang em up' He did the very same thing, ignoring pleas from Dana White to retire on more than one occasion. After all them beautiful knock outs he acumilated he ended up being on the other end of the knock outs before he would listen. Ortiz hasn't tarnished his career highlights as bad as chuck did, at least he's only losing by TKO's and not knocked out colds!....lol....
