Lesnar will mark his return to the Octagon since the UFC 121 defeat in a fight with Cain Velasquez, lookng to set himself back on track for a shot at the UFC Heavyweight title.

I'm leaning towards Lesnar too, just think his strength and wrestling will dictate where the fight goes if he's has healthy as he claims. Massive respect for him to even fight again after what he's been through though

I've been leaning towards Overeem but can't shake the feeling that a quick shot at beginning of round one will mean the end of Overeem for the rest of the fight. It could happen.

If Overeem can take Lesnar to the edge of his cardio then Lesnar's shot will become ineffective and Overeem will pick him off from there.

For Overeem the key to winning is Take Down Defense in the early going.

For Lesnar the key to winning is to have adequate cardio to continue to take Overeem down until he can grind out a victory

I think it's a lot closer than that, but still don't think either of them can't compete with JDS

I depens on how they perform. You know if we see Overeem completely dominating Lesnar on his feet and on the ground I believe he could compete with JDS. And if Lesnar can win the fight convincingly, well I don't think his striking will ever be at Junior's level but his wrestling sure can. Brock's key to beat JDS is certainly by taking him down and remaining on top position. But still, I'd go with JDS.

That is Brock's formula for winning every fight; not just Overeem. He is unstoppable when he can maintain top positioning while turning his foe into ground beef. Nothing new here. Can he get and keep that sacred top position with the Reem? That's what we pay to see.

I would have to pick JDS BUT Dos Santo's TDD stats don't mean anything if he hasn't defended Lesnar's level of shot. It may be that JDS is 78% effective at defending an 8/10 shot. Faced with a 9.5/10 shot we may see him go down 50% of the time.

Remember, Carwin hit hard too and generally defends a shot well.

I think that Overeem takes this fight and destroys JDS. That said, I actually think that due to their styles, JDS has a much better shot at beating Overeem than he does at beating Brock. I think Lesner is a very hard fight for JDS because he will shoot right away and once he is on top I don't think JDS will get out from under him.

Lesnar doesnt stand a chance vs JDS even if he does dominate overeem, JDS is a BJJ brown belt which most people overlook because he never ends up on the bottom in his fights due to his amazing TDD, if lesnar did vs him it would be a standup battle that JDS would absolutely dominate

I have to go with Overeem in this one. This will truly be the fight where we all get to see how good Brock really is. Brock will try tot ake this to the ground very quickly. I don't see it going well for him.

I am 100% sure that Overeem will win this. I am also 100% sure that it is a fight and anything can happen. Hell, Overeem might zig when he should zag and end up like Randy did. Like Randy said "I'd rather be lucky than good...". Either way, I'll be posting the next day.

lmao your funny. Of course with that view you can post the next day, On one hand your 100% sure Reem will win, with that sentence alone it discredits you saying that your 100 % sure anything can happen. Its just plain contradictory. Is Chael there with you behind your PC? Hes one of the few that could get away with straddling the fence on an issue.

It's not straddling the fence or contradictory. It is just my way of saying that you should never take fight picks so seriously because anything ca happen in a fight. If you look at their skill sets you have to go with Overeem. That said, there is always the chance that some little mistake or stroke of luck causes the other guy to win. No one ever thought Serra would beat GSP but he did in devastating fashion.
