really close fight. couldve went either way but instead ended in a draw. i had edgar winning 3 rounds to 2

I saw it the same way. I even think there might be a good argument that Edgar edged out R3 with that submission attempt at the end. These judges need to be stopped!LOL

Yes edgar won 3 rounds to two but maynard won the first round 10-8. Well realistically it should have been like 10-4 or something like that then edgar wins round 2 10-7 but we have the "two-point-must" scoring system.

it would have been 3 rounds to 2 but the first round was 10-8, thats how it was 47 each.

Out of the 5 rounds Maynard won 2 of them one of them by 10-8 n other by 10-9 n Edgar won the other three by 10-9....so if u do that math that comes out to 47-47...so I agree with the decision

Mannn Gray just doesnt give Frankie any respect, at the End of the Fight

u could tell Edgar was upset but went to Gray twice to say great fight

and got shot down twice...I can understand him being upset but this guy

beat BJ twice and he just kicked the crap out of him in the first round

but still could finish him then he comes back controls the fight for

the most part 5 rds and still treated him like some chump...think thats

why Edgar was smiling for the most part cause Gray was being a jerk

about things and sorry Gray but going for take downs doesn't count

unless you get one.....great job Frankie your a great Champ and proved it never quit most would of......could you imagine Gray as champ, he is full of himself would be a crappy champ

Azzer, watch back rounds 3 and 5 very carefully.



Round 3 edgar lands punches and kicks wihtout reply for over 3 minutes. Towards the end Gray lands a couple of clean hard shots but Edgar landed 3 or 4 times as many shots.



Round 5 Gray throws lots but watch the round and look for one clean connection, look for any connection of any sort then look how many clean connections edgar makes.



When I saw it live I thought it was close and din't have a clue what to expect from the juges,but watching it back, edgar without any doubt whatsoever won the last 4 rounds very clearly.

i dunno. i thought maynard won round 1 10-8 or even 10-7. and i think he pulled off round 3 and round 5. so I think maynard should of won for sure. over all it was an extremely close fight and the best fight so far from both of them. not boring at all and im glad it stayed standing

Maynard :10+ 9 +10+ 9 + 9 = 47

Frankie : 8 +10+ 9 +10+10= 47



There's no Controversy on That. So Edgar keeps the title because :

1- He deserves more credit being outsize

2- He got more Heart like a Champion Should

3- He was the Champion not the Challenger.

So since hes the champion and a short ****er he deserves the title. U put all the scores up there then give us your opinion. It was a draw which to me does not sound very champion like. He should be the ebst right....then y did he not WIN the fight. And the only time heart came in was in rnd 1 when he was in survival mode which seems more like gate keeper newcomer status than the suposed Top Lightweight.

I believe he beat him. They went back and forth in the fifth but i think he pulled out the win in the fifth. so 3 rnds to 2 for Maynard. And seriously how can you say that maynard is boring sometimes when hes not even as bad as A.S. or John Fitch or even how GSP used to be???

How can you cry about decision it was awsome fight and we will see it again... How awsome is that????

FOT maybe. i never thought that i would consider a maynard fight, FOT.

I think the draw was perfect, I called it after 5 was over. 1. 10-8 Grey, 2,3 and 4 10-9 Frankie, 5. 10-9 Grey. No way Grey had the fourth, he didn't do anything through the entire middle of the fight, he looked tired and frankie took him down every round.

I have to agree. A lot of people thought this was going to be a boring fight. It was everything but. Wicked good fight.

now what the hell happens? Pettis vs edgar i hope, then give maynard the next shot... everyone wins. And how about Stann TKO'n Leben? Stann vs Sonnen would be good. Sure would love to see Chael get KO'd.... hell of a night-o-fights

Hey and why is no one commenting on the fact that somehow one of the judges scored that fight 48-46 Grey... explain to me how he won four rounds and I'll eat my own tongue.

Bad judges are the norm I suppose.



That said, I have seen a few articles which were hastily written saying Gray was robbed and that was a tough fight to judge 1st time around.
