Kenny Florian: One way or another, you haven't seen the last of Ken-Flo

On Saturday, October 8, Kenny Florian fell short in his third bid to obtain a UFC title. Florian was a game challenger, but he could not defeat Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo, losing via unanimous decision.

At the post-fight press conference Florian would not speculate on hos future. On Monday, Florian released a statement through his management company and he remained unsure of his future as a fighter.

...everyone is asking what is next for me. The only response I can give right now is that I’m going to take some time. I want to rest, spend some time with my family and friends, and then evaluate all of my options. I’ll speak with Dana, and my manager, Glenn Robinson, and we will figure out my next move. When I make that decision, my fans will be the first to know.  One way or another, you haven’t seen the last of Ken-Flo!”

What do you think Low’Kickers, should Ken-Flo keep fighting or hang up his gloves?

Kenny is a great example of a fighter who got as far as he did with hard work and a using his head. He's a very good fighter but I can't see him getting the belt at 145 or 155.

I think you could see it in his eyes at the end of the fight. Not seeing the last of Kenny = hanging up the gloves and working full time as a commentator.

"not seeing the last of Kenny = he is either going bantamweight or all the way up to the heavyweights!

    While he is at it!

He needs to fire his cage corner, which is his brother. He is simply too loud and unsettling for either fighter in the octogan. Perhaps then he will have his real UFC success. Either way, his purse ought to be reduced to compensate for the PPV distractions until that time. ;-)

    Ksooner76,

You're right, your nephew hangs really low, he's a big boy isn't he.

    But seriously,

I think Kenny was a cross between your nephew, who hangs really low when he's upset, and my Aunty Betty after she has eaten to many currant buns... She does awful farts and can seem quite depressed.

    Then again,

You might want to talk about my uncle Bill. When he has been out fishing....

Ksooner, seriously, how is using your nephew as an example of relevance??

I don't know what, "a little boy nut fetish" is. Nor did I know that they were connected to fantasies which should be kept in a bottle.

Also from your comments, you say you heard what was written.

I am not going to ask how you came to learn about, this type of fetish, or how you know that such fantasies should be kept in a bottle because I am not interested in reading about it, I guess all other sane people who visit this site will feel the same.

Please don't respond, as you don't want to make yourself look worse than you have already, do you?

    Mr Bad-Breath,

Now I know why you wrote on my wall. I'm leaving it up as hopefully people will see you didn't refute what was so obvious. Your mind reflected your deeper, darker thoughts... you are unable to argue against the point I make, and move the level of the conversation from you to the USA.

Actually, you are not the USA and I am not Europe. Seems like time for you to face up to yourself. You'll never take on the world if you can't take on yourself. Seems like you could benefit from the discipline which martial arts and MMA has instilled in thousands of brilliant American and non American fighters.

Until you have a level of self knowledge and insight, you'll be having the wrong arguments with the wrong people, instead of the right discussions with the right people.

Grow up and good luck in your journey.

    Best wishes

Kenny is an absolute class act , great fighter and a great commentator as well. More guys like him will only enhance the sport. More guys like Chael Sonnen will turn MMA into a WWF type circus...

Few fighters are champions--but many are very good--even great, despite not winning the belt.

Florian has fought many great fights and has won many great victories.

If Kenny wants to return to fighting--he should move back to LW and he will have to improve. Wrestling and takedowns are where he needs to improve most--but his striking, though crisp--needs more power, needs to do more damage.

If he does choose to retire--I hope to see him as a color commentator on Fox. They would be smart to snap him up.

Kenny is the Buffalo Bills. God enough to get to the show but just runs into superior talent when he gets there. I love Kenny and he shouldn't retire. He's a great fighter and still has a great deal to offer to this sport.

And when he does get done he will be great on ESPN and a good replacement for Rogan or Goldy when they walk away.

honestly thought kenny didn't choke. he performed admirable. just aggravates me that he didn't throw elbows against the cage, didn't look for achilles locks, heel hooks, and knee bars when aldo was kicking him in the 4th when he was down. the way to beat these brazilians like aldo and silva is constant grappling pressure as chael showed.
