Keith Kizer: Chael Sonnen never applied or approved for Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)

i like sonnen! i watched him when he first started out, than went too wec! i still think he could do the same thing too Silva as what he done to him in their last fight with out this drug issue! sonnen is sound on the ground! even his stand up was better than silvas. sonnen was the only 1 that gave Silva a good ass pounding! and their for should get another title shot after these 2 title middle weight fights .

What is this big brother, Chael has to report everything little thing to this commission in one state. He dosnt really mean that cause they would be swamped if every fighter reported every single medical treatment they have and medication prescribed, and then they would have to wait for approval from some d bags on a commission to let u know and wasting valuable time to let your body recover, or heal from injury.

I heard that Sonnen applied for and was approved by another NSAC guy but then a new guy took his place which i guess is Kizer(?) and Sonnen didnt think he had to get through to Kizer again since he was approved before. @chongbong, fighters don't really care if there opponent is on PED's its not like when someone takes PED"s they magically become head kick experts or knee bar experts etc...all it does is reduces pain a bit increases ur stamina bit and helps in muscle growths...i'm assuming the fact that Nate doesnt care if his opponent is on PED's most of the other fighters dont either

Men were "men" for thousands of years prior to hormone replacement treatment. Im not completely opposed to steroid use especially for medical purposes.



BUT lets call it what it is; its is an advantage over others not using it and its not natural progression for a healthy man.



Also lets be careful not to make people who dont take steriods to fell as they have to keep up. What I mean by that is theres nothing innately wrong with a diminishing testosterone levels and it doesnt make you less of a man. (But I do think the option to use HR should be available to people)

Lower levels of testosterone cause fatigue and less energy, thats why men do it, my father knows this first hand, hes in his 50's

Its fine that your dad goes that route. But just know its not natural and that it is often fine for older men to choose not to use replacement therapy (serious cases aside).

He beat Paul Fihlo in the WEC the only reason he didnt get the title is cause Fihlo couldnt make weight and the title was no longer on the line.

so anyway apparently he started that testosterone replacement before the Okami fight, and was still getting treatment up until he fought Nate, no one knows if he was recieving the treatment before the Silva fight but IMO yeah he prob was but wasnt approved of it.



Sonnen was approved of the treatment before the Okami fight but in the Silva fight that was in Nevada he wasn't approved, and probably thought the first time he was approved of it, that would be it and he wouldnt have to apply for approval..... it does sound like a rookie mistake but it is possible that he never thought of it. apparently you have to get approval from each states athletic commission - read up on it



Matt Hughes is on the same treatment and a few other fighters, so all the haters can stop hating, when your on the treatment, it can elevate your testosterone levels above your normal rate; depending on how your body reacts with the treatment.



worst case scenario Chael is out until around the summer time !

but with UFC reps saying he could be back for feb or march and coaching on TUF..... it's safe to say it looking pretty good for chael :)
