Karlos Vemola out of UFC 128, Eliot Marshall in against Luiz Cane
Posted on February 23, 2011, 11:27 PM by Joey SantosusWith Karlos Vemola forced out of his UFC 128 match-up due to injury, The Ultimate Fighter 8 cast member Eliot Marshall will get a second shot in the promotion, as he steps in as a replacement to face Luiz Cane.
Sources close to the situation confirmed today that verbal agreements are already in place and the bout is expected to be finalized soon.
Following his appearance on TUF 8, Marshall accumulated three straight wins inside the octagon, including victories over Jules Bruchez, Vinny Magalhaes and Jason Brilz. However, after a lackluster decision loss to veteran Vladimir Matyushenko, Marshall was released, despite having lost just one of his four UFC bouts. In the time since, Marshall has rebounded with three consecutive victories outside of the promotion and will look to keep up the momentum when he meets the heavy-handed Brazilian at UFC 128.
Cane, meanwhile, was once considered one of the Light Heavyweight division's most promising prospects. However, after three impressive victories over Jason Lambert, Rameau Thierry Sokodjou and Steve Cantwell, Cane suffered back-to-back TKO losses at the hands of Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Cyrille Diabate. The Brazilian will undoubtedly need a win in this one if he hopes to remain a part of the crowded UFC roster.
UFC 128 is set for March 19 from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The stacked card will be headlined by a Light Heavyweight title bout between division Champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and challenger Jon "Bones" Jones, while the co-main event will feature a Bantamweight showdown between top contenders Urijah Faber and Eddie Wineland.

Eliot shouldn't have been cut in the first place
sometimes i really think Dana screws talented fighters out of their contracts, just because the fighter has a "boring" style of fighting or maybe put on one boring fight.... really shady shit
