K-1 commentator Mike Schiavello defends Alistair Overeem on Inside MMA

According to Schiavello, failed post-fight drug test is the only reason to call someone a cheat, and not based on a test done two months before the fight. Bas Rutten ridiculed Schiavello's comments, once again saying that anyone who's using any kind of PEDs is a loser.

I consider him the best MMA fighter of all time but I know many "real" fans think Anderson Silva is the G.O.A.T and they could be right, it just depends how you rank accomplishments etc.

IMO if you have signed to fight someone, during that duration until the fight is over you should not be allowed to test positive. Additionally while signed exclusively to a fight promotion, you should test clean. I don't know the rules exactly but I think that is how it should be.

i had always thought the rule had been do whatever the **** you want - take the prefight test and pass the ****er - you're clean.
he's definitely abusing a gray area, but damn imagine how many times diaz would've been suspended if a guy just came out of nowhere and demanded him to piss in a cup for the sake of it,

They would not have put him on random testing if they didnt already have a good idea hes a cheater. Everyone is upset because he is a cheater and got caught, end of story.
I don't think it's "his business" and IMO they should have to test clean whenever signed under a promotion but the DIaz point is true.

The UFC is full of cheaters. No wonder the PrideFC fighters had hard time adjusting to the UFC. This is why I consider Fedor the greatest Heavyweight of all time bar-none. Dana needs to kick out all the cheaters
because it's getting out of hands,or legalize the drug use so playing field could be even. Far as I understand the TRT is a nicer way of saying you are on the juice which it is.
You are retarded, Pride FC never even drug tested their fighters for PEDs, 99% of the guys in that promotion were so jacked on steroids that their balls actually sucked back up into their bodies. the reason they had a hard time "adjusting" was because they had to completely get off their juice to pass the drug screens.

Get real bros what I mean is let's clean up the cheaters and get this MMA top dog UFC to clean up the rampant drug use. This is why I respect Fedor and look at him ten years of dominance without drug use. I suspect nearly 98% of UFC fighters are jacked up with PED use.
They're real. You cant say Pride fighters were clean and not expect to get some static. Some people here are real fighters or fans of 15 years or longer so someone will call you out on it. I get where your coming from in general though. If this doesnt send the message to fighters about PEDs they deserve to be cut.
So what that guy defending him is saying, why does it matter if hes using as long as he cycles correctly and comes out clean by the time of the fight? Ridiculous. The only thing that can clear Alistair in my eyes is if he really does have a legitimate reason for it, which will come out at the hearing. My guess is he doesn't, but if he does, all power to him.

its actually embarrassing to me that someone who is supposed to be as educated on the sport as Schiavello would be so biased, its obvious he is a massive Overeem fan cause he lost his mind every time he did commentary for his fights.
To say that training on roids shouldnt be punished as long as the fighter can drop his level come fight time is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard anyone say especially in his position.

No. He doesn't bring up a good point at all. It's one thing for you not to know the answer to that, but for someone who is supposed to be a journalist and/or analyst, Schiavello should really try following the sport. The NSAC had jurisdiction to test him because it was part of his agreement in order to get licensed for the Brock Lesnar fight.

Reem didnt follow the rules when he fought Brock. This testing was already set to take place randomly when he was before the commission last time. Its all part of the plan!
