Newly crowned UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior "Cigano" dos Santos shared thoughts about his future challenges inside the Octagon. In his next fight, Dos Santos is expected to face the winner of UFC 141 main event bout between the former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and the reigning Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem, which will take place on December 30th in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dos Santos stated it makes no difference who wins between the two, since both Lesnar and Overeem are "big, strong guys" who are well-known for their exciting appearances inside the ring or cage.

Junior dos Santos, 14-1 in MMA, is currently recovering from a knee injury suffered prior to the encounter with Cain Velasquez. Cigano is unbeaten inside the Octagon, going 8-0 against some of the best fighters the UFC Heavyweight division has to offer.

It's a toss-up with me too. I don't know who poses the greater threat to the title that JDS now holds. If Brock can get a guy down, mash up on em real good, and pound away- he wins every time. But Brock isn't always able to do this before getting the ass-end of a beating himself. The Reem is an excellant striker, but has brought a glass-chin to fights in the past. No matter who the guy is, I think it's gonna be tough to beat Cigano. I just wonder who the guy is gonna be that knocks him off the top of the mountain.

Yea i agree with all of what you said especially Reem's chin. He is definitely a better all-round striker than Cigano, even though Cigano has the better boxing, but I tink the real difference in a stand up fight between Cigano and Reem is their chins. Junior has taken some big shots and never been in trouble and, as much as I like Reem, he did honestly get rocked a few times by Werdum.

I agree micah....I think JDS will KO both these guys, but both the fights are real interesting, with Lesnar, he wont stand with JDS like Cain did so we will truly get to see JDS's TDD and against Reem, that has the making of a great stand up war, so both the fights are pretty good

Man i hope Lesner comes in this fight to wrestle. Cause if he doesnt its going to end quick. When Overeem fought Werdum he wanted no part of his ground game. Another thing the longer the fight goes i believe Lesner has a better chance to win. Cause Overeems endurance sucks bad. No stamina. Honestly doesnt have alot of heart either

are you mad or what? theirs a big differance between going to the ground with 1 of the top 3 submission guys "werdum" than going to the ground with brock, and for you to say reem endurance is bad lol its 5 times better than brocks, reem wins this fight more than easy, brock will no longer be in the ufc after this its back to the WWE for brock

Stamina is something Alistar wishes for every night before he goes to sleep! But he is saying he's going to end it quickly and I think the stamina thing has more than a bit to do with that gameplan. He might try to come in hard and fast like Cain did in an effort to gain a quick violent stoppage. If Brock can weather the storm like he did against Carwin, and can manage to get The Reem on his back...... Ole Brock may be on his way back into the picture.

Difference is Reem will end it where Carwin didn't and Cain didn't come in planning to go like that, even Fitch said they expected a 4th stoppage but Brock charged so he had to adapt.

JDS shouldn't be worried about who wins but how that person wins. If we see Alistair playing around with Brock, beating him decisively in every single aspect of the game, then JDS has to be worried.

    War jds!

I prefer his chances with Lesnar....JDS is a striker and will most likely trade with Overeen...that is risky (huge, strong, K1 Champ) and we all know that...on the other hand it could be a perfect chance to showcase his wrestling and BJJ and prove he is a complete figther....Lesnar would get destroyed on the stand up and would not be able to hold him down. (he would take him down for sure)

LHWs are faster and better strikers than HWs. If Shogun and JDS were the same size Shogun would clown him.

The HW division is getting to be where the top 10 or so guys could all beat each other on their best night. Even Brock can beat any of the top guys as long as he is able to control them on the ground. It is only against other wrestlers that he has had real problems so far. Personally, I think that JDS will lose his title very soon. If he fights Overeem next I think he is done. They both have similar cardio but it won't be an issue. Overeem will treat this like a K-1 match. He will come in huge, stay well covered and deliver a couple of well timed power strikes to end the fight in the first or second.

I love the idiots that keep posting reem keeping getting ko by lhw. If anyone cares to notice reems loses come from top guys. I am not a fan of overeem but should at least take in account how fighters evolve in sport. Overeem is not same fighter he was, he is 60 lbs more of steriod horse meat then when he lost at lhw. He has a decent chin but has yet to have a top notch striker land clean shot in his new form. Cardio is a no brainer jds can go at least 3 rounds as seen, but 3 rounds of overeem against werdum looked gased and that is when he said he lost more weight for the fight to avoid gassing out. Jds just needs to land clean shot on brock and we see him curl up in a ball. For overeem more dangerous fight but all he needs to do is keep pressure up, avoid big shots. Then easily tko a gased overeem who is at big speed disadvantage. I still have Cain for comeback and fighting for title again, so many factors came into play before fight, not really fair to be expected to come back and face number 2 guy in world, but thats whats happens when you have belt.
