I love getting to see the judges cards - you can always see, what their first impressions are before they change them. Look at the first judge - he had the first round originally scored 9 for Silva, before changing it to an 8. Maybe, irrelevent in this fight - but this is how alot close decisions are determined. Judges are always getting influeneced by outside factors.

A very good fight by Sonnen..no doubt about that. Yes he was dominate not only on the ground but his stand up. I am not a fan of Sonnen but I feel that he won the four rounds and judges did also, however at the end of the day it was Silva that won and won by submission. No matter what the judges scored or how the fight could have went...Anderson won. This is MMA guys...no matter how good you are...whether your dominating or not...if your in the wrong place at the wrong time it can be taken away from you just like that....like Silva did Sonnen....Silva would learn alot from this fight and Sonnen would also. I take my hat off to both fighters....both warriors!!!

Yeah fighting a guy who has broken ribs and fighting a guy who doesn't is completely different sort of like night and day. During the day it's light and during the night it's dark. Seriously get a clue....

Sonnen was sick. for about 5 or so days within the week leading to the fight.....never mentioned that though. UFC has an outstanding medical personnel for their fighters that would stop a fight if needed to be stopped but nothing was done. All we have is Silva saying his ribs were somehow injured with no proof what so ever. He never grimaced walking out. never really grimaced as Sonnen was throwing punches to his ribs? Most likely Silva had a minor bruise that healed quickly enough before the fight started.

i was waiting for that triangle the whole night. he did a great job of defending it till that pooint and made the mistake of allowing silva to put one of his arms back. he did the right thing by keeping his elbows over silva's knees for the majority of the fight. Sonnen completely powned Silva for 23 mins, but the fight lasted longer than that. sucks to be sonnen atm. silva obvs deserved the win, but he made Silva look so ordinary

Okay folks here it goes. When Chael Sonnen first came into this fight and this fight was first promoted I really didn't know that much about him! And once I seen all the trash talk I thought it was just to hype the fight which it was, but it was also real talk Sonnen did come in and put on a show! We never seen Silva ever get dominated like that, ever. I got to give it to Chael Sonnen he did what he said he was going to do, except 2 things, He didn't retire him, nor did he beat him. He might of beaten him up, but that's about all he did. I am not making any excuses for the guy but Anderson Silva even said after the fight "I am sorry for my performance and the reason for this is because my doctor told me not to fight because I got a broken rib from training. That would perfectly explain why we didn't see the Anderson Silva that we saw in the Forrest fight, Henderson fight, etc, etc. If his rib wasn't broken he would of totally dominated Sonnen. It's almost as if Dari Queen sold more cheeseburgers than Mcdonalds it just wouldn't happen, but the odds are stacked against them. Sort of like the odds were stacked against Chael, but I believe and insult me if you will for what I am about to say I could care less, I believe the reason Sonnen looked so good in this fight was due to the fact that Silva broke his rib(s) I don't believe he could do that to Silva on his worst day which he had, he definitely isn't going to do that on his best~ Just think of what Silva would of done to Chael if he didn't have a broken rib????This explains his poor performance because we all know Silva can fight better then this. Silva was dominated and caught a submission because Chael made a mistake, had it not been for leaving an arm in there we'd have a new middleweight champion right now. Silva wasn't actually DROPPED as in his back never hit the mat, the one in the 4th/5th round was actually a slip if you look at it. But he stunned him in the first just like Rashad did to Rampage.



Anyway, I've never seen Anderson panic so much. Easily the toughest test of his career. Hats off to Chael, he gave Anderson one hell of a fight.

This is a big win for middleweights. A mental win, just like Fedor, once somebody does something to a champion all of a sudden people actually believe they can do the same thing. This is a loss mentally for Silva, this fight has given a blueprint to beating Silva, although it's been there for a while nobody executed (well almost perfectly) until Cheal. Vitor is going to be a handful for Silva.
