Josh Koscheck says he'll force GSP to quit on December 11th

"I have a great gameplan and my thing is, I don't think George has a good chin and I don't think his hands are that good. So I want to keep this fight on the feet and knock his ass out. ... I believe he hasn't been hit since Matt Serra. That was a good crack. His chin hasn't been tested and I think Georges has quit in him. If you look at the first Matt Hughes fight where he arm barred him, he was tapping before it was even tight. If you look at when little Matt Serra was on top of him pounding him, he tapped out. So I believe that Georges has quit in him and you just have to take him to that point. Nobody has been able to do it since those two but I plan on doing it on December 11th." - FightersOnly.com

Number one contender for the UFC Welterweight title Josh "Kos" Koscheck will look to extend his three-fight winning streak, facing the reigning Champion Georges St. Pierre. "Rush" defeated Koscheck in their first enounter (UFC 74: Respect) via a Unanimous Decision, in what was the first fight since losing his title to Matt Serra at UFC 69. Koscheck is 6-2 since the bout against GSP, comparing to French-Canadian's 6-0. Koscheck will also be a fourth man to have more than one fight against GSP, joining Matt Serra, BJ Penn and Matt Hughes.

he sort of tap,but it doesn't matter, koscheck was the first man to test that "weak" chin and what did he do, SHIT!

And it's funny how he said in the interwiew that his bff jon fitch is an exciting fighter, but not gsp. Koscheck is a tool.

Good point, Kos has a "weak" mind (probably the size of a 15 year old boy) and lacks intellectual integrity. Fitch is boring, GSP, at least the old one, is exciting.

Man I have seen GSP and Kos side by side a few times and GSP seems a weight division bigger than Kos. I don't really see how Kos will win this with GSP most likely being the better fighter and also notably bigger.

Idk how you hate on Koscheck but put Rampage as your favorite fighter. I like both fighters but the reasons you list for hating Koscheck can be said for Rampage as well. I think both are amusing, they dont really mean everything they say but they say it to add fuel to the fire. Hypocrisy is never pretty

You're right, "hypocrisy" isn't pretty but neither is a false analogy. Comparing Kos to Page is like comparing little league football to the NFL. Guess we'll have to politely disagree on this one.

Lmao you should really brush up on your analogies because that was a really bad analogy. Rampage's clowning isnt mre mature then Koschecks's. They are very close to being of the same intelligence. But idc for intelligent clowning. Clowning is immature to begin with and as long as its amusing im cool with it. And thats why i like Kos and Rampage

You're entitled to your opinion. Clowning, by it's very nature, isn't mature; not sure why you even brought that up. Page, in my opinion, is head and shoulders above Kos in his sh*t talk and Kos really, truly, seems like a dolt. He often struggles to push out even a modicum of intelligible trash talk- it's not natural for the kid and I'm often embarrassed for him when I watch him try and speak in public.

Hence my analogy. Again, if you don't get that or simply disagree that's cool, we'll leave it at an agreement to disagree.

"Clowning is immature to begin with" - I mentioned its immaturity already btw...

If you think Rampage's trash talk is head and shoulders above Koschecks, then you need to watch TUF Rampage vs Evans. Rampage is funnier but his talk isnt much more intelligent.

And LOL at "modicum" - doesnt flow with the context

I think Urijah Faber has a massive heart in his fights, same as Stephan Boner, AS, Diego Sanchez, Dan Hardy and Big Country are some that surpass others in terms of heart and only one of those is a champ. Sometimes champs are there just because they are better than their adversaries and not so much their heart. I think they all have at least some heart to even choose this career but some satnd apart in the balls department.

I'm with you on that, getting knocked out doesn't mean you have a weak chin, and surely still being conscious after the end of a beat down means his chin as some kind of substance. I'm a huge fan of St-Pierre's and it's painful to watch that fight, but still what I saw in that fight is so far from what happens to guys who really have a weak chins that I can't stand people saying he has one. I mean in comparison, Koscheck has a weaker chin than St-Pierre does, he got knocked clean by Paulo Thiago. And as for making St-Pierre quit, I don't know about you but I remember what happened to the last guy who said he'd make St-Pierre quit.

He did tap really fast when Hughes jumped on that armbar. But I don't think that means he's a pussy. A.Silva tapped pretty damn fast too when he got flying scissor hooked, and then he showed great heart taking a beating from Sonnen and coming through with a W. I just think its a natural reaction for alot of people who don't want to spend months rehabilitating an injury and be permanently affected by it. I would tap like a bitch too (not from a choke) as soon as I knew for sure one of my limbs was in danger. Also its true he tapped against Serra, but that was after taking three huge overhand rights to the jaw and temple then getting his face pounded on the ground. GSP's jaw actually looked good in that fight, seeing as Serra has alot of power in his punches and it took alot to finish him. Also GSP tried to stand up and fight back when he first got hit, when alot of people would cower away or shoot for a lazy takedown.

To me, the issue isn't really that he tapped out quickly, it's that he tapped out with ONE SECOND LEFT in the round. If you're caught, you're caught and you have to tap. But with one second left, you need to suck it up and give yourself a chance to fight another round.

As far as tapping to strikes, pretty much any fighter will tell you it's about the biggest bitch move in the sport.

The ref should have stopped the fight and I have no idea what he was waiting on. I have seen refs stop fights with less of a beating going on and GSP was taking a beating.

In a nutshell - GSP tapped at a point in time, which was later then the point at which the ref should have stopped it.

I have no problems with a fighter tapping himself out if he's getting crushed and the ref (just) lets it go on. The ref is obviously trying to give the fighter every chance to get back in the fight and we've all seen some wild comebacks, but with that said, the fighter himself "knows" when he's done and given some of the deplorable officiating (and judging) we've seen, you could easily understand why a fighter would do it, if the ref isn't; egos and fan desires aside, the fighter's health is the most important concern.

An example of ref not stopping a fight and endangering a fighter's health would be, IMO, the Carwin v Mir bout. Mir was out of that fight and the ref let him take 3 or 4 "powerful" shots, that were completely unnecessary. As a fan of both fighters, I remembered cringing as I watched Shane lower the boom on Frank and couldn't believe it was being allowed to continue.

And as a big fan of GSP - I have no problem with him tapping to Serra or Hughes, for that matter. The same way that Penn fans should have no problem with BJ's corner calling it quits at the end of round 4, against GSP. He was done, man. There would have been no point to BJ answering for the 5th.

As a fan - I want to see good, clean, hard fought and well contested fights; preferably ones with KO's, TKO's or subs. I do not want to see a man beaten to the point of serious or career ending injury; tap if ya need too.

Sounds like your "opinion" is biased to me, sounds like a contradiction to say tapping out isn't dishonorable if it's a sub but not punches. What about if your head is smacking off the back of the canvas with someone still throwing punches, THAT my friend is something you don't give your opinion on until it's you, and not what "pretty much any fighter will tell you".

And as for him tapping with one second left, he's said time and time again he didn't realize there was only a second left in the fight. What more does he have to do?

It's funny, you stick some of the UFC's best fighters on TUF and then you really get to see how stupid and immature they really are. Kos is a perfect example of this, making a complete A** out of himself on the show, while GSP just looks confident and acts respectfully the whole time.

Bisping did the same thing with Hendo, cried like a little B*tch the whole show while Hendo looked confident and acted like a grown man.

The whole world gets to see what kind of tools some of these fighters are, and then get their A**es kicked after the show is over, which is exactly what will happen to Kos, just like Bisping.

GSP will out wrestle, out muscle, and out perform Kos to another dominant victory, just like last time. All Kos has to defend himself with is his mouth. Kos' only chance for victory is if he gets lucky with one of his wild ass overhand swings and catches GSP, which won't likely happen.

    A way of looking at this might be;

Is Koscheck a better ground fighter the BJ Penn? NO

Is Koscheck a better stand-up fighter the Thiago Alves? NO

Is Koscheck a better wrestler then Matt Hughes or John Fitch? NO

And as we know, GSP has dominant victories over all of them.

No - Koscheck is fighting with a lottery ticket in his right hand and that's all he's doing in this fight. And GSP is going to take that lottery ticket off of him, cash it in and shove the receipt down his mouth, with his elbows.

Koscheck wants to keep it on the feet - LOL!!! Koscheck would / will be lost with Rush on the ground and I give Koscheck no hope of keeping it standing. If GSP wants to go to the ground, he's going to the ground and his opponent, who ever it is, is going with him and staying there.

I can't believe Rogan thought Koscheck's trash talking was either effective or any good, let alone the "best" ever.

"Playing" with George? Please. On his best day he couldn't get into GSP's head or effect his game; period.

I love Rogan's commentaries, but some times he says "crap" just to hype a fight and I think that's what he's doing, here. When he states that Koscheck "has done the best job of trash talking, that I've ever seen", I laugh. There is only one great trash talker in the UFC and his name is Chael Sonnen and Koscheck is no Chael Sonnen. He doesn't have Sonnen's whit, way with words or timing. He is completely unoriginal and unimaginative. And lets face facts, the only real trash talking battle that happened on TUF this year, was the one between The "Nurse" and JK; and Koscheck lost - badly. And yes, when you verbally annoy someone to the point that they get up and "attempt" to get physical with you...you have gotten to them....you have gotten under their skin. You win; and The "Nurse" certainly accomplished that.

I also like Rogan, but it seems like he does about 50 hype videos and the UFC just plugs in the names of the fighters at a later time. And usually what he says in the hype video is thrown out the window once the fight starts and there's no teleprompter telling him what to say.

It seems to go like this, he says this crap on the hype video and on a few radio shows and usually the exact same thing when the fighters enter the ring on fight night no there's no dead air. Then, when the fight begins, he says what he really feels and doesn't sound like Dana's puppet. Although, lately, some of this hype BS has been slipping into his fight commentary.

    It's all becoming really repetitive.

Yah, well they are running out of material with these hype up vidoes lol. Alot of fighters these days lack originality, personality and creativity, so we have to hear dana white say "hes the kind of fighter that gets better with each fight" and "he doesn't care who you are or where you come from" on every other countdown.

Someone should do a youtube video showing how many times a UFC announcer says, "this is going to be ____'s toughest fight."

I like seeing parts of these videos, the training and talking to the trainers, but the extra UFC hype train over and over is starting to wear thin.

And the way UFC continues to try and put at least one PPV a month is also getting to be a bit much. There's a reason most professional sports aren't year round, NFL, MLB and NBA all have season's. MMA, at least the UFC format, is starting to get a bit much and fight cards seem to be getting weaker.

All that being said, I hope GSP destroys Koscheck. I guess the hype worked on me for this fight because I took the time to comment but most of the card I'm not excited about

Yeah, GSP has "quit in him", that's how he managed to beat Thiago Alves for two rounds with a torn muscle in his groin.

And wasn't that same guy who gave Kos a beating?

Just about everything Kos said of TUF was stupid, wrong or both. I don't imagine this is any different.

One more thought. Serra, Penn and Hughes all did much better in there first fight with GSP and got there butts handed to them in their second fight, suggesting GSP is much more dangerous the 2nd time around.

GSP is a smart fighter yes he has lost and yes he was submitted but if you think that not tapping is a manly thing to do in MMA then i would have to say your "stupid".

GSP is scared he has the fear with in him and that he "FEARS" his opponent the only problem is this FEAR of his he (GSP) turns it into motivation making him train harder and do every little thing he can do before the fight so he has the BEST chance of beating his opponent as cranestyle have said GSP gets better the second time around.

This will be a great fight the classic goodguy vs badass (up to you guy who is a goodguy and who the badass is)
