Josh Koscheck blasts Yves Lavigne for comments, the Referee says he did not make

For someone like Kos who talks alot of garbage, which at one point i remember him saying he's gonna stand with daley, u better back it up or u DO look scared. I dont like Kos at all, I think he's a terrible ambassador for the sport, and honestly half the stuff that comes outta his mouth i dont believe, so as much as Yves isnt the best of refs, its not like hes sitting there saying "Kos sucks and I dont like him" which would be reason to question his reffing, all hes been "reported" of saying is "Kos was scared" and how does that have anything to do with reffing the fight?

Lavigne has had a few questionable calls and has often been the target of booing from the fans.



It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Koscheck has it right. if these things have been said they show a major bias. If Lavigne did say these things then he should be replaced in a second!

I could see if the comments were made so that it was like "I hate Kos" cuz then obviously he will call the fight different, but hes just stating what happened, how is it biased? Koscheck finished 4 of his last 6 fights. The two decisions were chris lytle who no1 can finish unless its a cut, and paul daley. I agree the Daley fight wasnt very exciting but he knew it was for a title shot and would be a fool to not fight a smart but boring fight

Yves has not been doing well lately. He made a bad call and stopped the Mac Danzig fight when the choke was not in and was not making him go to sleep. And just cuz he didn't wanna make that mistake and call another fight too soon, he almost let Marcus Davis die in there. haha. And probly coulda given him some brain damage from letting that choke stay in so long. Idk about the brain damage for sure. But Yves' confidence as a ref is in question. Who cares what Josh says. This is just what we already can see.

It's so difficult to be an MMA referee simply because there are so many ways to win and lose it's never really a straight forward call. But personally a referee can't give his personal opinion about a fighter and make it public, specially one who could end up fighting in a fight he is referring on.

Much to do about nothing. Even if Levigne voiced his "opinion", which he apparently did not, it was NOT defamatory (legally speaking). If Josh had his feewings hurted, big deal, NOT defamation, just an opinion based on real events.



So far as Levigne is concerned, If this is an internet driven lie (that Levigne said this), then Levigne should be pissed but even that is barely actionable since there aren't any real damages here. Sure, he COULD sue, but it would go no where - I doubt he will.

Koscheck calls the statement the following - a rant, when clearly is is not. He refers to it in the plural "attacks" & "comments", when it's nothing more then one remark, comprised of two sentences; 35 words.



"Scary" - if this scares Koscheck then he's a pussy.

Refs need to be bias and that was CLEARLY saying that basically he thinks Kos is a pussy. Can you imagine refs telling "this fighter is a bitch he's afraid to fight" OH COME ON you can't judge a fight if you're such an idiot. It's called MMA, if Kos goes there and Daley isn't able to execute his game plan (KO) but Kos executes his flawlessly (wrestling, hold him down) then ALL PROPS to my boy Kos, he won that fight so clearly it HURTS.
