St. Pierre will send a message with a one dimensional fighter like Kos. Penn has twice the power and 3 times the boxing skill of Kos and St. Piere made his corner throw in a towel to stop him from killing him.
Kos is not one dimensional. He has Ko power in his hands and feet, his wrestling is arguably one of the best in the UFC and his jiu jitsu is above average. He is intelligent, quick and powerful. His mouth tends to give a facade of ignorance and stupidity but don't be fooled. I do think he will love to GSP though. But he will put up more of a challenge than Hardy did.
Is that the tag used on the source or something? The guy that posted this in 2.0 called it the same thing, without the "KO" part in the title.... He never says he will get under his skin.
I don't believe any of Kos' antics will really do much to sway GSP's performance come fight time. GSP is too much the professional and it will only fuel his training. I think it is interesting how Kos downplays the huge victory over Daley and acts as if he was "held back" by his team from doing what he wanted to do in that fight, and that he won't make the same mistake with GSP, but instead go out with reckless abandon against him. Kind of disrespectful to his team and camp in my book.
It will be interesting to see the coaching styles of these two - the professional(GSP) and the loud mouth. I hope that fighters in KOS side would have at least learned a thing or two about fighting not trash talking.
It kills me that fighters choose to play this routine. In the end, if you have a few bad fights, an honorable fighter will be given a few more chances. But everyone is happy to see the bad guys go. If a fighter doesn't have fan draw they risk getting canned, and there's a fine line between successfully playing the bad guy and just being a douche who can't win without controversy.
Well, it's obvious that he's not that bright. He believes he's going to be able to use that high IQ of his and get under GSP's skin, when no one has done it, before. It's kind of like Chael Sonnen, who I like and am pulling for, saying he's going to get under AS's skin - not going to happen. AS suffers from the same affliction GSP does, which is confidence as backed up by a formidable skill set, training, cardio and intellect. Getting under the skin of fighters such as this, doesn't happen. My advice to Kos would be to worry about training and a fight plan, not trying to get into GSP's head; Kos doesn't have the intellectual heft to pull that off.
His comments about Montreal - JK is so tough (now) that he can challenge a whole city? LOL! He announced where is after-party was, that he wasn't afraid, but he (none-the-less) had security? LOL! He didn't worry about it, because he's a fighter? LOL!
On this one issue I say this to JK - JK...he is are an average fighter @ 170 and one with a limited skill set; he is a master of nothing...if a guy the size of Shane Carwin or Brock Lesnar came up to him at that party, with the intention of laying a beating on him, there would be precious little his 170 frame would do about it. And unfortunately for JK, those types of people are out there. Not only in Montreal, but everywhere. I think the only people who could make a statement, such as JK made here, is a guy like a SC or BL, 'cuz they are the only ones who can probably back it up - right across the board. JK, on the other hand, would get killed by even a slob that stood 6'6 and weighed 285 -who is he kidding? Now he can take on "all" comers - LOL! You're delusional Josh.
