A Lightweight clash between The Ultimate  Fighter 12 winner Jonathan Brookins and veteran Jeremy Stephens is reportedly in the works for the TUF 13 Finale.

The bout will likely be featured alongside the final match-ups of this season's Ultimate Fighter 13 Welterweight tournament on Spike TV in June.

Stephens (19-6) rebounded strong from his split decision loss to Melvin Guillard in September by scoring a third round knockout victory over Marcus Davis at UFC 125.  The win earned him knockout of the night honors and makes him 3-1 in his last four outings, with additional victories over Sam Stout and Justin Buchholz.

An early favorite on the 12th season of the Ultimate Fighter, Brookins (12-3) did not disappoint, as he went on to defeat Michael Johnson in the finale to secure the coveted six-figure contract.  Prior to his time on the reality series, the 25 year-old fought for other well-known promotions such as the WEC and Bellator and is currently riding a four-fight win streak.

The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale is set to take place June 4th from the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The event will be headlined by the show's tournament final bout and is also expected to feature a Lightweight showdown between top contenders Anthony Pettis and Clay Guida.

Talk about not babying Brookings this is a really tuff first fight in the UFC, and I think Lil Heathen is going to KO him.

this is brookings fight to lose... if he tries to stand and mess around with stephens he could get knocked out but if he takes him down he could submit him or control him into a win via decision...

feel sorry for pettis going from a titleshot to probably what is not even a contender fight, which there's a distinct chance he could lose, and where the attendance will be about 1/3rd of what it would be at a numbered event

Whaaaat?! As long as Pettis wins he should still get the title shot after Edgar Maynard 3.

i just couldn't imagine them putting such an important bout on a tuf card where it plays second fiddle to the tuf winners fight, lets face it everyone wants to be in on a numbered event, then if they can't get that they want a fightnight event, then if they cant get that they want a tuf finale, that's like a hierarchy and tuf events are usually only similar in relevance to something like a strikeforce-challengers card

Are you doped up? I could easily see winner of this going for number one contender.. who else would be? well sorry Sot is in the mix but then Pettis has his rights to one, and Guida i can see getting one soon with KenFlo moving to 145, BJ up to 170. personally i think if pettis wins, he gets his shot, Guida wins, he goes up against Sot for a contender match

Stephens via KO, Brookins had his chin up all the time on the TUF show, fortunately for him he was fighting grapplers though.

I am sure he will have a good boxing coach who will teach him a better way to fight.

Classic striker/grappler match up. If Brookins can get him down and keep him down, he could pull off the victory and maybe even a submission, otherwise I see him getting caught by one of Stephen's punches. Stephens has some nasty stand up so hopefully Brookins corrected his issue of holding his chin straight up, or else it could be night-night for him early on in the fight.

Oh, and to all the clowns putting down Brookins for his looks, well he is in the UFC, and you are not. I imagine most of you have a face only a mother would love anyway. Try next time to come up with something a little more intelligent for a comment other than commenting on the dude's looks.

Were talking about how he position his chin, you need it tucked nicely if your gonna be going into the octagon with guy like Stephens, because any little mistake and he can KO you with one-punch something that none of Brookins opponents possess yet apart from Aldo who put him away.

Position your chin has nothing to do with how good looking or ugly you are now does it.

With all this being said Stephens has been submitted a few times so Brookins could pull off the submission.

brookins is the most irrelivant TUF wunner ever. hes so one dimensional in a weight class full of super skilled, multi talanted fighters. and with standup that bad, no matter who you are, its just a matter of time before you get ktfo.
