Jon Jones will face the winner of Bader vs Little Nog, as Vitor Belfort is set to fight Yushin Okami at the UFC 122 headliner

According to Jon Jones' agent Malki Kawa, the young UFC superstar is almost certain to square off against the winner of Ryan Bader vs Minotoro Nogueira UFC 119 bout. Kawa revealed about Jon Jones challenging Rich Franklin, Forrest Griffin and Randy Couture, as now it looks like the young Light Heavyweight will have to wait for the UFC 119 co-main event winner:

"Just so you guys know, @jonnybones did ask for any one of the guys you tweeted: forrest, franklin and couture. Let's see who'll step up and do it. Right now it looks like winner of lil nog and bader. All are great opponents and @jonnybones would welcome the challenge."

Elsewhere, Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reports that the MMA veteran Vitor Belfort will square off against Yushin Okami at the UFC 122 headliner in Germany. Vitor Belfort was quoted saying one week ago that he would prefer making his next fight in USA, but now it looks like "The Phenom" will have to make the trip to Oberhausen, Germany. If true, we might see a rematch between Sonnen and Silva before the end of the year:

"Vitor Belfort vs. Yushin Okami will be the main event of UFC 122 on 11/13 in Oberhausen, Germany. This will be a Spike show in the U.S. The winner will likely face the Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen winner for the middleweight title sometime next year."

w0ow so Vitor its going to Germany after all , Jon Jones ask for Randy?

thats not cool , Randy is a national hero and i would not like to see him get beat by Jones , good thing his getting winner of Bader vs Lil Nog

because Bader as Lil Nog are high ranked fighters a winner over any of them will get him 1 fight away from the title fight i think

id cant wait to see belfort get back in there. always found him exciting, and now he is not carrying all that muscle he looks even sharper. okami will not be a match though. as for bader, i really dont like him, nothing personal, i just dont rate him. i know he won tuf and has wins since but i think he is too 1 dimensional.

I think Jones vs Bader is a bad fight to make, both are young up and coming contenders and having them fight now doesn't make sense, they should do wat they did wit Cain and Dos Santos not have two young contenders fight so soon and as for Belfort, I think he's going to kill Okami if he stands wit him

If I were sitting in Jones' camp I am a bit torn on this fight choice. If Little Nog beats bader (I don't think he will) I'd be pleased to take that fight. It gives Jones (assuming he wins) a nice feather in his cap against a well reckognized opponent.

If he fights Bader I still likes Jones' chances but to me it's a really dumb move by the UFC. Bader and Jones are both essentially undefeated up and comters. They'd be better served giving them different 'big names' if Bader beats little Nog, instead of knocking one down and then forcing them to climb back up.

Obviously you make a very valid point... Then again, matches like that remind us that the UFC does have the sport's interest in mind as well. Even tho they can stretch their talent as they did with JDS and Velasquez, the Bader-Jones match just simply makes sense if Bader gets through a vet like Nog, as Jones was able to get through Matyushenko. I would think the reason they did things differently with the Heavyweights is due to the lack of depth in that division. Whereas the Light Heavyweight division is a bit deeper in terms of talented contenders. With all that aside tho, that fight is just hearsay at this point... Guess we will have to wait and see what develops.

    @ whitey

that my first thought too. why have two young challengers fight each other i know the LHW division is stacked and different than most but i'd rather see them both fight other guys plus are Lil Nog and Bader really that much higher ranked than Jones i thought he'd get a UFC vet a big name like Forrest. i hope he doesn't fight Bader if he beats Lil Nog

I criticised the way UFC HW's are held back sometimes and not managed in a way that legitimises it as a sport, but now they have Bader/Jones as a possible match. Excellent. So what if they are up and comers, you can lose early on and come back no problem if you have the skill and desire. This is how all divisions should be run IMO as it legitimises the champion, rather than having fighters avoid each other for financial gain.

I see were your coming, I personally think Bader and Jones could beat most of the guys ranked higher them to the point were there basically the best two behind Shogun,Machida,Evans and Rampage. If Bader wins which i think he will i'd just rather see them fight a little further down the line that's all

I agree with this, as we saw on Saturday wrestling = control and control = wins in MMA. As much as people might not like that statement and as boring as it can make fights it is true. These two are two of the better wreslters in the division, big guys (presumably good chins) they could probably take out some of the upper echelon strikers.

It seems like they are making Jones climb the very loooong ladder. I think its about time he gets that top 5 opponent. I'm happy to see Vitor vs Yushin. Not really sure who will win that one.

Couldnt agree more man. The guy has had six convincing wins in a row in the UFC against increasingly difficult opponents. (I'm of course counting the Hamill fight as a win because of it being a bullshit DQ, but that's a whole other story.) So what, he goes in, finishes Bader/Nog, then still has to get one more win in order to get a title shot? Eight convincing victories in a row before he gets a shot? Tell me how Belfort having one catchweight victory, or Koscheck's most recent three-win streak which follows a horrible knockout loss are worth more than Jones running through the whole division?

Give this kid someone who matters, no more ****ing around with middle of the ladder guys. I understand easing guys into this kind of position, not rushing it like they've done with guys in the past (eg. Ben Saunders) but enough is enough.

These all sound like great fights to me. Let's let the match makers work their magic and sit back and enjoy it all unfold. No matter who Jones fights it is going to be epic.

Yea, its actually refreshing to see a match up like that. It's acceptable to hacv a loss on your record in MMA, you can still go far with that!

I think it's great they are doing the Silva vs. Sonnen rematch. I know a lotta people may not want it cuz it was a decisive finish. But at the same time. People wanna see someone that can challenge the champ, so much in fact, that they are willing to give the loser an instant rematch. It was one of those fights that if he did not get another shot at Silva eventually, would have been quite hard to swallow, and is anyway. And not that that's the reason to rematch. But it's nice to see they wanna see if he can do it better this time. Sometimes I wonder about the guys that have come close to beating Silva, or had a good opportunity, like Travis Lutter getting the mount and then losing it. I wonder how much they keep thinking about that moment. Could probly drive a man crazy.

and the bader, lil-nog fight makes perfect sense as well... but i think Bader is a little pre mature to fight a guy like Bones, if he can even get passed lil nog, who is an absolute monster as well. im loving these match ups.

This is a good direction for Jones, Bader and Lil Nog. I would especially like to see Jones vs Darth Bader. Okami vs Belfort would be a good match but would it do well as a headliner?

I absolutely love Belfort but I hope Okami can pull off a miracle and beat him, just so I can finally see a Silva(if he is victorious vs Sonnen) vs Okami rematch. I've been waiting for that shit since Okami joined the UFC, since he pussed out the first time they fought and took the DQ. I mean he could have taken an hour to recover from the illegal kick but he knew he couldn't win so he took the easy way out for a win. Plus the kick even though it was illegal was one of the sickest strikes I've ever seen in the octagon, and Silva didn't flagrantly go for an illegal move, Okami had one knee off the ground and the second one was tenths of a seconds away from coming up before he got caught. That would definitely bring out the most motivated Silva we've seen yet, if given the opportunity to finally avenge his last loss, especially sine the only reason Okami won is because he wreaks of BITCHASSNESS
