Jon Jones set to appear on Thursday's edition of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno
Posted on March 21, 2011, 11:05 PM by Joey SantosusFresh off of his dominant victory over Mauricio "Shogun" Rua at UFC 128, newly crowned Light Heavyweight Champion Jon "Bones" Jones is scheduled to appear on this Thursday's edition of NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
UFC President Dana White broke the news earlier today via Twitter:
The invitation to appear on the show follows an impressive weekend for the 23-year-old New York native. In addition to dethroning the legendary PRIDE veteran to become the youngest Champion in UFC history, Jones also subdued a thief just hours before Saturday's match-up while attending a local New Jersey park. After chasing the criminal down, "Bones," alongside two of his Jackson's MMA coaches, were able to retrieve a woman's stolen GPS and restrain the crook until police arrived on the scene.

Great news for MMA
Hell yeah, Jones is really going to bring a lot of new fans in. But we are also going to see a lot of new "Brock" newbish type fans. Watch out Lowkick, we're going to see an explosion of new members in the coming months.
Jay Leno has a hell of a chin. He should let Jones knee him and see if it even phases him. I'd totally watch that.
Another big step for MMA. Make your fans and baldy proud, Jones.
man not only is he the youngest UFC champion, he's also a crimefighter!
The problem is that Leno might talk about the crime more than the fight with Rua. Hope not.
Honestly it doesn't even matter, a famous fighter is going to do more for the sport then anything else right now. No one will tune in to watch UFC because someone talked about MMA on Jay Leno, they might however tune in to see the STAR Jon Jones fight.
Honestly, i was thinking abt myself of all those who will get bored hearing the story for the 16th time. But i'll prbably just skip thru the vid when its online and wont loose my time on this.
This is huge for MMA. Jones is the man!!!
So its official, Jones is the man to take MMA to the next level in USA. GSP already did this in Canada now its time for USA.
FML! I stayed up last night trying to catch this. Wrong date....
Hopefully Jones lands a spinning elbow on that chin.
