UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon "Bones" Jones defended his title for the second consecutive time, defeating Lyoto Machida via submission towards the end of Round 2. Triumphant Jones looked back at his performance and the training camp coming to this fight, promising to work on his mistakes (mostly in the first round) to become even a better fighter for the next title challenger the UFC puts in front of him.

Fair play to him, he's the real deal. Feel proper bad for Machida though, he was looking awesome and had obviously trained hard for the fight. Hope he comes back stronger

Potential to be the greatest. The upper limit of this guys ability still hasn't been set.

Not being happy with his own performance is a sign that he's still growing as a fighter.

Credit to Lyoto for being aggressive and fighting to win, instead of not to lose, like most of JJ opponents.

I'd like to see the Dragon drop down to 185 and have a go at his buddy Anderson. You can go back to be friends after the fight.

Obviously there's not fat, he'd have to loose muscle mass, but I think he could do it with no problem. His frame isn't that big.

Silva has a much bigger frame and he can make 185.

10 inch screen? that's like 5 times the amount of inches you're used to looking at, isn't it?

@IChokePeople You're the moron that got inches confused with feet. I've seen your comments over the past few months and if anyone is a dumb truck it's you. A dumb truck with little man syndrome.

Ok, you got me on the inches thing. That being said, I still haven't read anything from you to lead me to believe you're not some short little douchebag with Napoleon Syndrome. My 2 inch comment was probably spot on too.

Finally I get my moneys worth out of a machida fight. The guy actualy showed up to fight and won the first round. He set the proper game plan on how to beat jones until he got put to sleep. I couldn't help but laugh as bone jones walked away,it was like he go through putting his girl to sleep after some late night pounding lol. Now the question is can bones take an " h bomb" to the chin from Dan Henderson. We will see

no one can take a clean H Bomb, however I dont think Hendo is fast enough to get in close to use this lethal weapon.

Shogun took it and survived ....which is amazing. I'd like to see how Jones takes it. Hendo aint scared to go in there and blast guys no matter how long their reach is

I agree!! Hendo doesn't get easily intimidated. And he came over as the StrikeForce champ at LHW. This would be another test for the ever improving Bones. How much better can this kid get?

Im' not a fan of his but you got to give it up to the man to fight four times in a year with three of those fights being for the title. Jones fans can't ask for a better year out ofthis man. Enjoy it while it lasts, because nothing lasts forever!

Henderson has absolutely no chance against Jones. H-Bomb this, H-Bomb that....Machida's footwork and agility allowed him to be able to land significant strikes. Henderson is too slow and telegraphic with his strikes and Jones will easily avoid any of it. What happens when the H-Bomb gets neutralized and Henderson's 3rd round cardio starts kicking in.

Henderson will bring it to Bones hard for the first two rounds and make it a war. being a good wrestler he could grind in close with Jones and try some take downs mixed into his striking game in an effort to keep Jones guessing. But after the first two rounds I tend to agree with you in that Dan will surely fade from the third round on and probably won't have an answer to the Jones puzzle after the first 2 rounds. But you don't know for sure till they get in there and dance! And this is one dance I'd pay to see.

If its so telegraphed, then why does he keep connecting with it? The reason he gassed in the Shogun fight was because it was brutal fight.

Do you really think Hendo has 0 chance? look at what the guy has accomplished, jeez

Jones won the fight but Machida is a far better fighter. Jones is only able to fight at that weight because of his skinny legs. Regular size legs would put him in the heavyweight class.....which is where he belongs. He looks like a guy fighting his smaller brothers while fighting...not fair. A good big guy can always beat a good small guy.

Smaller guys win all the time. It has nothing to do with height and reach when the skills and talent are in favor of the smaller guy. Machita showed this in the first round. But Jones went to his corner and made the necesary adjustments to neutralize Machita's game in the second. He truly is deserving of the belt. Not a fan but I can't wait for him to fight my next top ten guy in Hendo.

i can't see how hendo would beat jones. shogun git absolutely desroyed trying to win the belt back. and hendo could not finish mauricio. I know that diffenrent match ups create different advantages etc...but I don't see any advanteges hendo would have over jones...exept experience...whick usually goes along with age...which goes along with all kinds of problems. gotta respect hendo though for pulling off what he does at over 40.
