Newly crowned Light Heavyweight Champion Jon "Bones" Jones appeared on Thursday's edition of NBC's "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno.  The invitation to appear came after Jones, alongside his Jackson's MMA coaches, subdued a thief in New Jersey, just hours ahead of his UFC 128 title fight.  "Bones" went on to defeat Mauricio "Shogun" Rua via third round TKO to become the youngest Champion in UFC history.

While the majority of his time on the show was spent recounting his crime fighting efforts, Jones also explained the concept of mixed martial arts, detailing his progression from a wrestler to a professional fighter.  Leno took a moment to show a clip of Saturday's title fight as well, which appeared to be well-received from members of the audience.

WOW, that was painful to watch. Jones may be the worth story teller in Tonight Show history.

Now let me explain what is really going on in this interview ( just for the sake of the starry-eyed, nuthuggers). Jones was "allowed' on the Tonight Show as a signal the corporate elite that he can be a new money maker.

He has been vetted and based on his minority status, clean cut look, his so called 'Christian' background ect. he has the package they can use to exploit "starry-eyed, nuthuggers' out of their hard earned money.

..and like good lil "starry-eyed nuthuggers", they will fork all those dollars over without batting an eye!

Remember, a fool and his money are soon parted! ....and lord knows the world is full of FOOLS!

Coming soon, Jones endorsed by Gatorade, Pepsi, Mc Donalds and perhaps a few other scumbag, corporate filth, entities!

Isn't that all good news? I don't like the way the world works either but what is wrong about MMA fighters getting part of the pie?

jealous? maybe you need to take credit his achievements, fighters work hard and mma is a tough job physically/emotionally and probably financially if your still starting. mma needs to be mainstream

I like Jones for some reason he reminds me of a young Will Smith.

I'm pleasantly surprised. I was starting to think he was going to get a big head but looking at that footage, you can't ask for a more gracious, articulate ambassador for the sport. Good for him.

That's the first time I've seen a Jay Leno segment or show in years; he's a bore.

...Christie Alley - is a fat bloated, talentless skank....who thinks that Scientology is a "religion". And by her definition of a religion, we could also define MMA, football, basketball, MLB etc.as a religion....or just about anything you like, do, enjoy or are "passionate" and are stupid enough to subjugate yourself, to; blindly. Notice, how it got a little weird when JJ spoke of growing up in a "strong Christian home"; statements like that aren't "cool" in "Hollywood". It's not exactly a "Christian" town.

...I wonder if the piece of crap will have GSP on when he beats Shields?
