Despite a little confusion from both parties, it's finally official: Jon Jones will meet Ryan Bader at UFC 126 on Feb. 5th, also known as "Superbowl Weekend". Both sides seemed to be a little unsure during their stay at the UK Fan Expo, but it looks like all the kinks have been ironed out.

On this past week's episode of "Ultimate Insider, the bout was officially confirmed:

"Jon Jones vs. Ryan Bader is now set for UFC 126 on February 5th, part of the UFC's traditional Super bowl weekend card. Jones and Bader are two of the rising stars in the light heavy weight division and the winner will be on a fast track for a shot at the title."

With the winner potentially very close to a title shot, both fighters can be expected to bring the their best to the table come February 5th.

Jon Jones comes into this fight looking for his 12th win. The exciting young striker has only "lost" once, a DQ loss to Matt Hamill. Currently on a two win streak, Jones is coming off two quick but devastating victories over Brandon Vera and Vladimir Matyushenko. A win over Bader would confirm his place in the top 5 in the division.

As for the All American wrestler, undefeated Ryan Bader, the TUF 8 winner will look to keep his winning streak on track. Coming off of a win over veterans Little Nog and Keith Jardine, Bader will have met his match in the wresting skills of Jones. Using the heavy hands that destroyed Keith Jardine, he will have to be at his best against Bones.

The stellar card is also expected to feature Forrest Griffin vs Rich Franklin, and a Middleweight title fight between Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort.

Agreed, its only in Feb and isnt even completed but it is already looking like the card of the year...as for the Jones/Bader fight, I think Jones will win it, his stand up is way better than Bader's and I think his wrestling is the same as Bader's maybe even better so ya I think Jones got this

Get ready for a ****ing beatdown. Dont get me wrong, ryan bader is a solid fighter, but he's simply outclassed in every area of the game here. Wrestling, jitz and standup, jones has an overwhelming advantage.

Now we will REALLY see what Bones is made of. If he walks right through Bader he will be the LHW of the future in the UFC. Great card.

@cagerage64. i do see jones walking straight through bader. i dont rate bader, or maybe i should say that i dont think he is as good as others say. i didnt expect him to come through the nog fight but he did so maybe he will surprise me but i doubt it, ill have jones to win inside 2 rounds.

Nah jones wont walk through Bader. He may outpoint him with his reach but it won't be an easy win. IF he wins

I do not remember any division in any organization at any time being as stacked as the UFC light heavyweight division right now.

    @jizzle

i agree, the only way i see him winning ''easy'' is if Bader gasses. I understand the buzz about what Jones will become, but to get there he needs fine tuning and more fights. I'm glad the UFC are not rushing him because I don't want to seen him get a shot when's he's not really there yet in terms of his development. His ground game on top game is phenomena but l'm I very curious to see how much he improves his stand up, imo his stand needs work i can't understand why people rave about his stand like's it's all that, he won't be doing any spinning back kicks or fists against guys like Shogun or Machida if anyone thinks i'm wrong ask yourself have you seen him display good counter punching or combos consistently in a fight because I haven't. Like i said he will be great but he still needs work and i'd have no problem seeing him have 3 fights before a title shot.

Yeah he has talent but if Jones and silva had a stand up fight I don't think bones could hang in there. Besides we've yet to see him stand with a guy that has great stand up

Vera stand up isn't bad but jones didn't stand with him so we didn't get a chance to see how their stand up matched up

Yea, but because he didn't have to... I think saying his stand-up is weak is as irrational as saying its great. We have not had a fair chance to assess this portion of his game.

Not a very competitive fight but I'm looking forward to seeing Bader get punished for all the boring fights he's had in the past. Jones will teach him a lesson on how to put on an entertaining fight.

I'm thinking Bader is not Hamill, Vera, or "the Janitor". Bader is not going to be another easy "W" for Dana.

If Jones takes this, THEN he will be in contention for a title run.

    gonna be a great fight

i think it will be jones getting the win

i don't think it will be near as easy as his last few fights

Baders camp will certainly be working with him on avoidings Jones early tie ups where he works most of his set ups for entertaining style of azzwhomping he does.

i think Bader will be able to keep the fight out of jones prefered range, which for a guy with such long limbs is actually pretty tight in the pocket. Bader will try leg kicks, and is a good enough wrestler to slip out of the collar tie. jones will tho find his range with his hands and work him over untill he can tie up for a trip or drag.

im picking jones but i wont be surprise if he loses to a decision...never seen jones defense on the ground it was always offense. some fighters are horrible on their backs and i can see bader putting jones there.

guys don't just throw elbows nonstop because if you over extend with one and the bottom man times you, he can get you with a easy head and arm sweep. a punch doesn't really give the bottom man that option, he would have to gain strong wrist control, and still most of the sweeps open to him are less certian than a head and arm sweep.

imo best positions for delivering elbows are wrestlers side controll/in opponets half gaurd. guys like Bones Jones can get away with throwing elbows from the gaurd a bit more than most because of his reach, he doesn't have to break his posture as much to land them; keeping his shoulder and neck out of hooking range.
