He will systematically take apart Rampage and leave him lying on the floor of the cage when they meet. Did you not see him demolish Shogun? Aw, it wasn't that bad. I've seen less funny people, I'll put it that way. In any event, he didn't fake an injury. The second dr. he went to for a second opinion ruled out surgery, but he still needed a cast for a month. He still would've had to pull out of the fight regardless. Last time I checked "fake injuries" don't require casts for weeks and weeks on end. Just because Rashad said he faked the injury doesn't make it true. And just because you want to lick Rashad's taint doesn't mean you have to be a hater.

How did he fake an injury? UFC specialists advised surgery. he paid to see an independat specialist who recommended he not have the surgery.



What is fake about that? Just because someone says it is so, does not give any proof to the slur.

Given that Dana purposely gave Jones the weaker opponent in Rampage, I give him a year with the title before it is taken away from him.

I don't think Jon would survive at HW. I don't like to use the word overhyped, but people are definitely putting him on a level he has not proved he's on. Yes, a bunch of dominating wins against good opponents (and 1 great opponent), but he's no Anderson or GSP, demolishing #2 guys in the world consistently. IMO his biggest assets are definitely physical attributes + natural abilities. I feel like people are looking at him the same way they looked at Lesnar. This guy is too big, strong, gifted, athletic ect. and if he gets on top of you its game over. Only time will tell though...

Jones has not had any holes to his game exposed very much by anyone and he is now facing top tier fighters every time he fights. perhaps some holes will get exposed, he could lose anytime it is MMA after all and we all know what Serra done to GSP, but in the long run I think Jones will be held in higher regard than both GSP and Silva as long as he stays motivated and does not let it go to his head. he is certainly the most promising fighter ever in terms of all round ability at such a young age. Add that to his Silva-esque frame and his ability to utilise the advantage of that and the fact he is a million miles better at this age than GSP or Silva were as he is a new school product, then I cannot see why there is much arguement against why he cannot dominate and be the best there has been.



Of course he needs to defend that belt many times to be held in similar regard to GSP or Silva, but I see no reason why he cannot.

Some of his hype is unjustified.



His wrestling and ground-and-pound are supernatural but his striking has looked a bit mediocre. He's appeared more than human in his fights with O'Brien, Guzmao and Bonnar.



I just wonder what's going to happen on the day Jones faces a fighter with great TDD and, at least, average striking. Not going to be a good day for Jones nuthuggers.



And just for the record, I was a fan. But the guy is a huge tool.

Striking mediocre? Maybe you should ask Rua what he thinks of his striking. He couldn't get close to Jones. In fact no one has troubled him much in the striking department. He is young remember and has shown improvement every time and absolutely annihilated Rua despite not having reached his peak.

Edub jones is most likely going to be an egomaniac and only time will tell what happens to his game as he spends more time in the media. If I were an opponent my strategy would be setting up interviews with the guy to distract him.



It does in no way discredit his insane skills but the limelight may be his undoing he does show those signs. Do we know for sure no he may be that good that hecan juggle both.



However IMO machida is a far more skilled fighter, in isolation (brazil), with a disciplined approach to mma and it went to his head. He may not be as talented or gifted but that lucky head kick you refer to only strengthens his history (which is impressive). Jones should be weary of the media and distractions.



However I have no problem with page getting the fight. He has great tdd (so does machida) and power.



Just to point out to you Fedor lost twice because of his ground game not standup. He was beautifully posumed by werdum and had a man 50 lbs heavier on him with a geat ground game of his own. Giant silva would loose a standup fight with Fedor and so would werdum. Not sure about your handspeed comment.

Very true. Fedor seems to realize he was getting sloppy. Going to holland is a good choice for him. He has great striking but having great strikers to spar with is important. They will point out his recklessness.



I was wondering if you were inferring the kick was lucky on Machida's part. I think he has a pretty strong overall resume and record. Certainly by ufc standards. Let's face it the ufc is now matchmaking like boxing. It doesn't matter who is the most deserving. Quite frankly guys don't even fight enough to know anymore. By the time the top 5 or 6 have faced each other new guys have moved into the top ten.



It's getting hard to even rank guys because of the matchmaking choices. I really don't care as long as the fights are good, but once it's all about money the chances of having real matches without a fighters union, league or tier system of matches get slimmer.

I'm not sure where you are originally from, but in New York we use the word "son" to either address our friends, relatives or to talk down to someone. It's kinda funny. A young man comes into a sport, dominates it, and becomes the youngest champion the sport has ever seen. He beats veterans, up and comers, wrestlers, and strikers... I'm starting to feel that people are just butt-hurt that their heroes are becoming a thing of the past (Fedor, Cro Cop, etc, etc). Instead of hating the new talent, just try embracing the new school type of fighters. You may actually start enjoying the sport again.... BTW Jones is gonna kill Rampage!
