The fight between Jon Jones and "Suga" Rashad Evans is two months away, but it already looks like the cold war between the two former teammates gets hot.

Jones and Evans sat to discuss the origins of their mutual hatred, once again promising MMA fans around the world a grudge match for the ages. Evans called Jon Jones "fake" and a "fraud", claiming that he knows the "real Jon Jones" is not even close to his public image. From another side, Jones claimed his match-up with Evans is just a small part of his path to glory, and aspirations of becoming the greatest.

Jones and Evans will headline UFC 145 in Atlanta, Georgia. The event will take place at the Phillips Arena on April 21st.

Seeing Jones trying to keep his cool while Rashad is non stop instigating was a fun exchange.

It had some interesting points as well. Jones admitting that hes trying to be a great man but not yet there seems to have been said in complete honesty with how badly Rashad was trying to derail him and break his confidence, while at the same times Rashad has some truth in the fact that Jones won't be the same man after a loss. But what type of changes would he face after a loss?

In my opinion, once Jones faces a loss is when we will really see the truth, and see if he really is going to become that great man or a fraud.

@Spyridon - Ahh, so you're saying we won't see what Jones is made of until a loss tests his spirit - Like GSP's loss to Serra. Okay, I get that.

Sorta. It's easy to say your a great man when you are on top - it's easy to say hes wants to be an inspiration and is going to follow in the footsteps of the greats and all that.

But the time where he will prove those things is how he handle things when hes down, when his conviction is really tested, and when we'll see what he is really made of.

You can't know good without knowing the bad, and right now even though he has faced a lot of pressure in his fights, he hasnt really fought a "losing battle" yet. He has only known the good. He hasnt had to prove the type of man he is yet.

I would say a better example for GSP would not be Serra, but moreso Hughes was the first to really test him and force him to elevate his game - which is what eventually led to him becoming champ. That's how you become great - by facing your biggest tests with the odds against you and proving the type of man you are. The words before those tests dont matter.

My friend is convinced a loss will make Jones a better fighter kinda like GSP. GSP could lose a fight but theres no way in hell I would bet against him in the second one. The guy learns so much so fast and comes back with a intentions of hurt. I kinda like your theory on this though. Its that whole " anyone can be tough when they're the hammer but how tough are you when your the nail" type thing. right?

The thing that Jon doesn't get is that you don't say you are an inspiration, or you're a positive influence, a role model, etc.

The person you inspire or positively influence is supposed to say those things on your behalf. This kid is extremely arrogant.

I wonder what Rashad is talking about when he says that JJ is fake and fraudulent and isn't who he says he is? JJ's reply that he isn't perfect and is getting used to being a young man with fame makes me suspect he likes the ladies despite being a married father. He also says just cos he is a Christian doesn't make him perfect.

Also "i don't have the riches". "don't you have a bentley?" LMAO

Jon Jones is the perfect example of self-confidence and positivity. I really don't know how anyone could see him as ****y or arrogant unless you've never met any of those types before in real life

Well I can understand why some interpret it as that...

While some admire that you can tell he's trying to stick to his convictions, that can also be interpreted as trying to "be something you are not".

But as mentioned above, once his convictions are tested we will see what type of man he really is.

I was on the fence with this one but after seeing this interview, I really want Jones to smash Rashad. All Rashad did was sit there trying to make Jones look bad & talk trash. Jon has his eyes on a bigger picture while Evans is just trying to play mind games.

Jon does the right thing by creating his reality with a positive mindset. as much as I respect rashad...he brings nothing but negativity to the table. he doesn't speak for himself but only AGAINST jon. but there is nothing arrogant about believing in yourself. plus it seems to work.

For the longest time now i've been on the fence regarding whether Jon is "Fake" but when I think about it i'd have to go with he's no different than any of us.

As people we have different aspects of our personality and all where many "hats". Like who we are with our chick, our parents, our friends, at work etc. its all a different "role" but still parts of our personality.

So in this situation Jon is "at work" and as a public figure and role model perhaps, has to put forward a type of image that is expected of him.

But Rashad knew Jon on a personal level away from the cameras. He got to see that side of Jon. Perhaps the more relaxed personal side of him.

So Rashad appears to be upset now when Jon doesn't act the same way he did previously off camera which is a little childish to expect him to not behave at least slightly differently in a public setting.

Now as for Jon being "Cocky and arrogant" whether its an act or not its definitely there. I mean when he so smugly affirms "actually its a 2012 bently" or whatever.

Honestly becoming a millionaire and superstar in just a matter of what 2 years (especially at 24) is probably something thats hard not to let go to your head so I can't really hate. Think about how many superstars end up strung out on coke dead in a hotel or end up in rehab.

Power is just something not everyone can handle.

Long story short, I think Jon's trying to find his identity as a champion still (right now he's trying to copy the whole i'm the best i'm pretty ali thing) and once he figures it out he'll be more "real"

lol but it was funny to see Rashad troll Jon on and Jon play into his game. thats how you know he's not quite found himself yet.

Jon Jones might be fake. He might not. I don't give a shit. He's legit and I don't see anyone beating him including Rashad for a long time. Tiger Woods was fake too.

You can clearly see that he wants to be black Jesus. He is obviously going to be the first to ascend when the rapture comes. Come people, Jesus walks! Jones is only 24, he has a lot of growing up to do. Rashad is a man, and knows that you can only control so many things in your life. Rashad is trying to hype a fight, and he's doing it.

While I don't buy everything Jones says, at least he's positive. Ever since he lost the belt, Rashad has become Capt. Negativity and doesn't seem to be able to fight someone without getting personal.

Rashad is a very good fighter, but Jones, for the short time he has been in the sport, is already a great fighter.

I like both of these guys as fighters, but I got tired of watching half way through the first clip. At least the trash talk with Rampage and Jones was funny at time.

Rampage had a similar line, "****y, over-rated, arrogant" but after he got his butt kicked he admitted Jones is the real deal.

Dizzy Dean, a star MLB pitcher way back in the 1930's had a famous quote about being ****y and arrogant...

"It ain't bragging if you can do it."

Rashad what a douche, he's far more arrogant than most fighters in mma, just look at all of his interviews. He's everything I cant stand. You gotta believe in yourself or no one will, and you gotta teach and help other people 2 do the same,so our planet prospers( which it is not doin right now) If a 24 year old young man chooses 2 take in that responsibility, which he's whole heartedly doing, how can you hate on that?Rashad is over 30,and should be ashamed of himself.
