Newly crowned UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones looked back at his performance at UFC 128, claiming that he's not considering it as a start of New Era in MMA. Jones revealed he believes the fight against Shogun was his most complete performance so far, promising more to come.

Jon Jones is currently 23 years old, holding a professional Mixed Martial Arts record of 13 victories and just one defeat. Jones started his MMA career only three years ago, back in 2008.

I agree to an extent. I dislike Jones because he plays this two sided game with his attitude and words plus his ego is very swollen. Swollen egos are the first attribute that jump out at me on the dislike meter. Lesnar, Bisping, A. Silva are others that I dislike as well, for the same reason.

Like in this interview for instance. He tell Anick this is NOT a new era in MMA BUT up until the closing time of his bout with Shogun, this guy is out there sign autographs as the 2011 Champ and mentioning during interviews that he is the "new school".

Because of Jones' clean cut image, his brother being in the NFL, trumped up stories about attacking crackhead muggers ( even though it was Jackson and Winklejohn how should be credited mostly) expect to see Jones plastered all over the so called "mainstream" media ( SI magazine, ESPN, top sponor tv commercials).

The PR machine will be in overdrive from all corners because in our modern lifestyle, stars are MADE ( by the establishment) for their money making potential......bullsh*t PR stories and all!

Maybe is Jones Cursed at fighters during the weigh-in, knee'd fighters illegally while down on all fours during a fight and spit at the corner man at the end of the fight and praised SATAN you would come to like him....

it's your opinion and I respect it. To me the guy is a class act...you remind me of the type of people that can't reach the top of the mountain, always complain about how high it is. Watch fights, if you are worried about how ****y a guy is or how he spends his money, go buy those Hollywood celebrity magazines...MMA is about the fight, what you hear after is not the fight anymore...jones is a great fighter.

Just say it already, you don't like black people. And you hate it when you see somebody young, black, and rich doing well.

I won't say which one but if you pay attention to the comments that one of those guys makes it becomes really obvious really quick that what you just posted is spot on.

A couple of years ago Joe Rogan said "Welcome to the Machida era". Last night he said "Jones is going to be champion for a long long time". Who knows? There is always someone new coming along. He may have trouble with a better wrestler.

I actually think Machida might be the biggest threat to Jones. I see Jones getting past Rashad with no difficulty as long as he keeps his head. Next in line should logically either be the winner if Rampage V Hammil or the winner of the the winner of that fight V the winner of Machida V Couture. The way I see it, as long as Machida beats Couture, Jones will get two defences at the most before facing the Dragon. If Machida can't beat him I would be hard pressed to think of anyone at LHW who can.

Phil Davis may be the one to outwrestle Jones, but his striking is too rudimentary at this time. If he can improve his striking I see him as being a huge threat to ANYBODY holding the belt, whether it's Jones, Evans, or anybody else.

very unhappy with shoguns performance, he let jon dictate the way fight went, he went for leg locks when he didnt have a chance to pull one off his takedown defence was poor he looked slow with punches, 1 or 2 leg kicks is all he through, he looked gased after 1 round, he look like a novice, i starting to think maybe he's not as good as i thought, jon is good dont get me wrong but rua game plan has much to desired poor performace over all i do no 1 thing rua is better than what he showed last nite

I agree that Rua didn't look like himself and made a lot of DUMB mistakes BUT Jones has the perfect style to beat Rua. I think Rua could do better than he did but I just don't see Rua ever beating Jones.

Jon is not going to stay at 205, he's already cutting down a lot of weight. In a few years his body is going to settle down and he'll move up to Heavyweight. There is an odd similarity between Silva vs Fedor, the bigger guy with skill able to control the smaller fighter, and win on the top.

What's not to love about this guy. It's amazing how mature and humble he is, given what he's accomplished (so far) in his life and at (such) a young age. I don't see how someone could not like the guy. He delivers, both in and out of the ring.

JJ is going to be a tremendous ambassador for the sport, the brand and the division. I see no one in 205 that could de-throne him.

This guy is going to be champ for (probably) as long as he wants to be and he's going to make a lot of money, in doing so. And given the day he had yesterday, one almost have to ask the question - should John Jones come with his own cape and mask? He's beating criminals, thwarting crime, confiscating world titles from monster Champions and all with an....awww, shucks, million dollar smile and attitude.

He's going to be a great Champ. He's going to give us many memorable fights and many memorable finishes and highlights. :-)

machida? You got to be kidding me. Jones will manhdanle any of the current LHW crop, and without too much difficulty. He has lot of tools, is improving and is very hard to defend on the ground. Look how much trouble was Rua in.

Anderson Silva? Maybe but Silva will not be quick to jump to this.Is this happens, my menoy is till on JJ. Bigger, faster and more weapons. Silva was mandalndled by Sonner for 4 rounds... and ot lucky
