Jon Fitch set to face Thiago Alves at UFC 117

After a very exciting match at UFC ultimate fight night 5 which saw Jon Fitch knock out Thiago Alves via up kick, the world has been eagerly awaiting a rematch between the two fighters. The rematch was originally set to take place at UFC 107 but due to irregularities following a CAT scan Alves was forced to pull out. Rumours then followed of a rematch at UFC 111 and 115. It has now been announced that the rematch will finally happen at UFC 117 Silva vs Sonnen.

Alves, who underwent minor surgery to treat the irregularity, has stated how badly he wants to avenge his only ever knockout loss. 'The Pitbull' was recently cleared to fight again and the only obvious match would be the long awaited rematch against top competitor Jon Fitch. The fight has been announced by the UFC as the co main event at UFC 117.
