UFC Welterweight prospect John "The Hitman" Hathaway was forced to pull out of his UFC 138 encounter with Matt Brown due to illness. Hathaway, currently 15-1 in his MMA campaign, was last seen in a Split Decision victory over Kris McCray at Fight Night 24, told ESPN.co.uk he's totally fine with having two fights in 2011:
"It takes a lot to get ready for a fight. It's fine by me to only fight two this year, but I'll definitely try to fight three or four next year."
As for Matt Brown, "The Immortal" will now face Seth Baczynski on November 19th in San Jose, California.
UFC 138 will take place on November 5th at LG Arena in Birmingham, England. The event will feature the first ever non-title 5-rounder between Chris Leben and Mark Munoz. Also on the card, Thiago Alves takes on Papy Abedi, Brad Pickett fights Renan Barao and Paul Taylor vs. Anthony Njokuani.

Illness? Like what, the sniffles? Man up dude. If you are not really INJURED, you need to fight. He should be far enough into training to be okay. Too many excuses these days to back out of fights.
Did he say that kind of illness? No. So please, shut your mouth.
diarrhea is a serious case of illness IMO
True story, kills insane amounts of people in the developing world.
he has the AIDS
im not just sure he has AIDS, im HIV Positive he does ;)
Big shame, one of the most promising up-and-coming fighters. Especially good wrestling ability for a Brit.
