Not sure why he's always referred to as the color commentator. He's the one with the knowledge, he's a world-class champion martial artist himself who practices a lot of the stuff he's commenting on. That Goldberg half the time needs to just shutup with his cliche one-liners.

"That's what the UFC is all about Joe"

How many times has he said that?

He is one of the all-time-great Taekwondo champions. And has two brown belts in two different forms of JJ. When he was a teenager, he dominated his weight class, lightweight. Because he had no competition there, he fought above his weight class to beat the middle-weight champion, and the HW champion, earning the Grand Champion title before he was 20.

He said he doesn't fight because to do it professionally you have to dedicate your life to it. Fighters work too hard, and he wouldn't have time to do comedy or announcing. etc.

He's actually in spectacular shape, you just rarely see him with his shirt off. I'm sure he juices, but he's not competing so I think that's his decision to make.

Overeem will beat Brock. if Fedor fights Overeem and beats him no one will be exited about Fedor and carwin or brock.

He does train but he is not world class and he is not a champion of anything he has knowledge and skills but he has never been a WORLD CLASS martial artist.

What I wish for the most - that Rogan (and Dana), would stop using the F-bomb, every other word. Joe is obviously a very intelligent and knowledgeable person when it comes to MMA and the UFC, in particular; he's the best color guy in the business. However, I just get tired of all the F-bombs.

Jens Pulver - what a great guy. He was a great fighter. He's a great coach (if you saw him on TUF). He's funny, personable and always professional. I wish the UFC could find a place for this guy. He also calls a great fight, if you've ever heard him do color commentary.

Yes, he has to stop using that one word that starts with F. Because everyone knows that is a "bad" word. Why? No one can say, except that some group of grandmas said it was "bad" 100 years ago. But definitely, we need to all limit our vocabulary to appease uptight tight-asses. Especially those of us that are intelligent. We need to stop saying "bad words". And if grandmas come up with any other words they think should be called "bad", then we need to pay attention and stop saying those words too.

    Dumbass.

    @ jsnwht

You are such a dumb F.U.C.K.

You obviously failed to comprehend what I said.

I said stop using it..."every other word". It's not that I have a problem with the word, you dumb F.U.C.K..

My exception is to the repetitive use of the word; of any word. If he said elephant, as much as he used the F-bomb, then I would have written...I wish Rogan would stop using the E-bomb....every other word. I did not say, that he should stop using it all together; nor did I say it gave me offense.

And please note - that Rogan manages to go on air and do the whole broadcast without the use of the word. And again, I could care less if he used the word every-now-and-then.

Concluding - you are one dumb F.U.C.K.

I thank you for reading my post and I encourage you to continue following my work.

    Cheers,

    Wing Chun

Thank you Joe Rogan. If Rogan had a lowkick account and left comments he would get weaked and people would call him a nuthugger. That's sad. Rogan is the man though. He makes watching UFC more enjoyable. He tells it like it is.

No. He doesn't suck, he just has some holes in his game. He has never been as good as people proclaimed to be, but that doesn't mean he isn't good.

I have said this for years, just because Fedor has a lot of submissions, doesn't mean he has a good ground game.

He is still one of the better fighters in the world, no doubt.

Whats cool about Joe Rogan is, like some of you have already said, he tells it like it is.... Although, I mean it differently in this instance. A lot of guys in his position would have took the discussion back to the UFC as soon as they could have for obvious reasons... Once they were done discussing Fedor, that guy on the other mic tried to switch it to UFC 116, and Joe instead switched it back over to Strikeforce again to talk about Brett Rogers, Overeem, Cung Le, etc... Gotta respect that, you know that kind of shit probably drives Dana crazy..

On a side note... Joe Rogan loves him some Overeem!!

did anybody see that video that joe rogan talked about. The one about the triangle Werdum threw on Fedor. Great video, it defiantly explained why Fedor got caught and how good Werdums BJJ is.

They missed the fact that Fedor controlled his leg like he did against Nog when f-ed up and ran into the cage - allowing Werdum to grab his arm again. If the cage hadn't been there, Fedor's arm would've been wrapped around Werdum's left leg with his right arm smashing his face.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XP_0JiLQlgo

4:46 - grabs his leg in typical Fedor bjj anti-dote fashion. Commence smashing.

4:48 - Werdum turtles up and Fedor follows.

4:50 - Fedor hits the cage and almost tilts over. Werdum grabs the moment and his head and pulls him down, freeing his arm. Transition, transition - check mate.

The cage is better for MMA than ropes. Many aspects of many different forms of martial art, involve fighting with your back against a wall, or fighting by holding your opponent against a wall.

The cage was initially thought of by a Hollowood producer and it was done purely for production values.

The truth is that I like Joe Rogan as a commentator, he is very well informed but I can't compare his comments to the Bas Rutten ones.

Bas was a real fighter , with great round-up knowledge on the sport and he also was good with words. You can't ask for anything more for an MMA commentator.

What pisses me of is that everytime i hear MMA noobies talk about a subject, all they do is repeating Joe Rogan's lines , like a broken record or something!!!

Guys, please... educated yourselves...fightwise i mean...

Joe Rogan is the man!He describe it as it is!

As for Goldberg;Stop bitching on the guy!Hes not there for his MMA knowledge,he is only a commentator.Rogan is the analyst;he is the guy that know it all.

All the sports work like this;a commentator(for the sponsors, the whos who in the stadium, the transition to the commercials, the interviews,etc...)and an analyst(who describe the action on the field, the ice,the court,ring,cage...)

Thats how it works in the industry. The commentator is there for his "good" voice, his vocabulary,diction...And most of the time they can be a commentator for all kind of shit!

    The analyst tho,is a specialist(an ex-player,ex-coach most of the time,or a MMA practitioner in Rogan's case)

    IMO,they make a good team.
