Miller acknowledges the importance of headlining in his home state of New Jersey, and says he plans to make a statement against Diaz on May 5th.

Jim Miller

"I know Nate pushes a good pace, so I want to be ready for anything once I step inside the octagon. I really want to make a statement in this fight and really cement myself as one of the top 155'ers. ... I really hope to put on a good show for you guys on May 5th. I'm super excited to be headlining this fight on Fox. It's at the Izod Center, in my home state. It's a huge fight for me."

I'm not sure where Miller plans on making this "statement", because Diaz' boxing is off the hook lately and his ground game has always been top notch.

I see this one going to decision for sure, with a slight chance of Diaz getting a TKO if his boxing is as sharp as it was in the Cerrone fight. Either way I'm going with Diaz.

Nate's boxing is sick but I'd be crazy surprised if he can stop Miller if Guillard and Bendo couldn't.

Miller has much better wrestling and will probably be able to "make a statement" by holding Diaz down and winning a decision, or doing more damage via ground and pound.

As good as Diaz is on the ground, I don't see him submitting Miller, who is also excellent.

I unfortunately agree, I think Nate is one of the most exciting fighters out there but the way to stop him is to control him from the top.

Even more unfortunate is in order to control him you can't really get much offence off because you open yourself up for submissions. I really hope that Jim doesn't take this approach to the fight because it could be fireworks.

Miller is a top notch 155er and he's been grinding for so long to get to the top. Unfortunetly though, Nate Diaz is TEARING IT UP! He's miles ahead of miller in the striking department, his ground game matches or even surpasses miller's, is cardio is top notch, and he is one of the toughest people to ever sign a contract with an mma organization. He is going to have to avoid the takedown of miller, but asides from that I don't see where he can find himself in a place where he isn't fully in charge. But yo, Miller is a beast.

Miller should be fighting at 145... Including Frankie Edgar.... MMA Evolution.. They are to small for 155... And Pettis vs Aldo would be awesome as well... WTF.. Why is everyone afraid of Aldo.. The Champ needs competition..Yes Aldo is a Beast... And Nate will be to much for Miller... Everyone knows it, yet many won't except it...

Miller has got some wild stand up, even dropped Bendo in the 3rd when he was sick but Nate's boxing is off the chart. Guillard couldn't get the KO so I think it's unlikely Nate will, along with Miller having a rock for a chin.

Ground game is hard to say, Nick's probably got better pure Jits but Miller might have better control since he has great wrestling. IMO Nick is better off his back and Miller better on top but that could be BS.

Miller obviously has the biggest gap in this fight for wrestling and that could be his way to victory. Nate either subs or gets grinded out by wrestlers but I don't see anybody subbing Miller.

Either way it's gonna be a WAR, not sure why but I just think Millers gonna tough it out and take it. Good luck to both guys, always bring it.

My bad ... Accept... Miller only chance will be his wrestling... We can see in the video he is focusing on the ground game..Yet his no Maynard... And the way I see it is Maynard One.... Nate Diaz One..... Nate made him tap on the show... So those long legs can also be an advantage for Nate on the mat..This is a five round fight... It won't go the distance... On the striking Nate wins easy... Doesn't matter if Miller drop Ben Henderson.. Nate is a hole different animal on the striking department then Ben Henderson...And sick excuse or not... Ben Henderson would have won anyway.. It's like me giving an excuse for Cain loosing to Junior... Ring Rust and Surgery...

Fact is, I even have The Cowboy Cerrone > Jim Miller... Any day of the week... The Cowboy supposed to had been the big thread to Nate... Not Miller.. I have Nate winning an easy fight again....

Nate tapped him with a guillotine so don't see how to figure in anything about his long legs but yes obviously long legs is better for any aspect of mma (only disadvantage is probs defending leg locks).

That comparison doesn't make sense. Coming off an injury/sickness is different form being sick/injured.

It's all an excuse for loosing... If you feel sick, then don't ****ing fight... Simple as that.. And who ever said I was comparing... I only said his long legs will be an advantage for him fighting a short guy like Miller. As for Maynard.. Well Maynard is a way better wrestler then Miller, and yet Nate still made him tap... So Miller wrestling should be no worries for Nate.

Surprised most people are taking Diaz. He does well when he's not taken down and controlled by good wrestlers. Rory McDonald dominated him. I have Miller by just that
