Top Lightweight contender Jim Miller, who will meet former WEC Champion Ben Henderson at UFC on Versus 5, discusses his opponent, as well as the upcoming title bout between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard. Millers says that he'd like to see his former training partner, Edgar, retain the belt, but admits that he would prefer a rematch with Maynard. Photo: Francis Specker

On Ben Henderson

"Anything can happen in a fight and he's a dangerous fighter. That's what makes it exciting for me - the unknown... He's a tough fight, but I feel I have the advantage in most areas. I'm going to go in there and put the pressure on him and fight him the way I fight everybody else - try to beat him up and break him and sub. him out... A win over Ben, that will put me at eight in a row - 10-1 in the UFC. The fastest ten wins in UFC history. So I'd hope that I'd start getting the recognition that the other guys that hold those streaks get. We'll see, talk to me on the 15th."

On Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard III

"I'm friends with Frankie, he's a great guy and we've trained together. It's been a little over a year since we were training together regularly. He made me a better fighter when we trained together. So, I'm loyal in that aspect. He helped me advance my career, so I like the kid. I'd like to see him win - I'd like to see him beat everybody except me, if I get a rematch... As a contender, I am a little bit more bitter about the fight I had with Gray. I made some mistakes that I shouldn't have made leading up to that fight. So personally, I'd rather fight him. If I'm number-one contender, than he should be Champion for me to be fighting him."

Agreed - Bendo is a very good fighter but I think Jim is on another level and will soon show it .... again.

I have a feeling that Bendo will show he is the one who is on another level. He looked like a beast in his last fight and this will be Miller's toughest test on this run.

I already see him as the #3 guy at lightweight a win over Bendo will solidify that, but not change it. A loss will. I'm a fan of both guys, but I would like to see Miller pull this off and I think he will.

Look at who's he fought. If he beats Bendo, I will change my tune for sure but right now I think he is overrated.

If you're so sure, search previous threads haha. Who are you responding with that crap? Look at who he's fought and tell me who makes you say wow.

Yeah I like Jim he's an awesome fighter he's put together a nice win streak but on the other hand I have to agree with u his resume is not all that impressive, with that said a win over bendo can really solidify his stance on the light weight rankings

I currently hae Jim at #4, and I think he has the potential to reach that number 1 spot.

I think this next fight will show how good his wrestling has improved, if he has that down then he has excellent striking, good chin, incredible heart, amazing BJJ offensive and defensive, great cardio, nice wrestling and always go for the finish.

I like Miller a lot man, he always comes to fight, he doesn't stall or L&P he's a proper gamer. If he beats Bendo he will definately get the recognition but i'm not 100% sure he will, Bendo is slick man and has great ju jitsu, so does Miller though. That said i haven't seen any spectacular striking from either of them, they're good strikers but not great but they are both cardio machines man. I think Bendo is going to just edge Miller to a decision win, another great match up though....

I hope so because Jim deserves it. He's beaten a lot of tough tough guys and made it look easy. Bendo's good and I'm a big fan of his, but let's face it, he's not top-tier. Jim's been working incredibly hard to face top-tier guys like Gray Maynard, Melvin Guillard, Dennis Siver, Clay Guida, those kind of guys.

To me, Jim has everything to lose. I want to see him win and finally have everyone recognize him as one of the top ten.
