It's only been two weeks since UFC 132 and it seems already seems like an eternity since we've seen elite Mixed Martial Arts action. The next big event in the month of July will be Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Hendo, but so far October will be a month for must see MMA. UFC 136 is already shaping up to be a spectacular fight card stacked with many high profile names. To add to the very stellar event, UFC president Dana White has announced on UFC.com that both Jeremy Stephens and Anthony Pettis have verbally agreed to face each other on October 8th at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Two of the most exciting fighters in the lightweight division will face off as verbal agreements are in for Jeremy "Little Heathen" Stephens VS Anthony "Showtime" Pettis at UFC 136, UFC president Dana White confirmed today.

Anthony Pettis is fresh off his UFC debut against Clay Guida from last month's TUF 13 Finale. That same night Jeremy Stephens defeated Danny Downes to a unanimous decision. UFC 136 is looking to be an event to look out for, headlined by the main event of Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard III. Below are the fights planned so far for the evening.

Main Card:

UFC Lightweight title fight - Gray Maynard vs. Frankie Edgar

UFC Featherweight title fight - Jose Aldo vs. Kenny Florian

Middleweight bout - Chael Sonnen vs. Brian Stann

Lightweight bout - Joe Lauzon vs. Melvin Guillard

Middleweight bout - Demian Maia vs. Jorge Santiago

Preliminary Card:

Lightweight bout - Anthony Pettis vs. Jeremy Stephens

Heavyweight bout - Dave Herman vs. Mike Russow

Featherweight bout - Josh Grispi vs. Matt Grice

I'm loving the way this card looks.

Pettis vs Stephens should be ahead of Maia vs Santiago though in my opinion

pettis is definitley more technical but stephens is always throwing bombs. He was getting out boxed by davis then landed the bomb. My pic is pettis to win late stoppage or decision.

it will most likely be the spike prelims which more people see anyways, its almost better to fight on the spike portions the on the main card.

Great card ! Wow ! Can't wait for frankie maynard III. Pettis should submit him but he's gonna bang with Stephens.
