Less than 24-hours after his announced signing, the UFC has revealed that Jason "Mayhem" Miller will meet Aaron Simpson at UFC 132 in July.

UFC officials confirmed the match-up on Saturday.

Miller (24-7) will return to the octagon for the first time in six years following a single outing at UFC 52, where he dropped a lop-sided unanimous decision against current Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre.  In the time since, he has competed in various promotions, most notably Strikeforce and DREAM, compiling a record of 12-3 (1 NC), including eight first-round stoppage victories.  "Mayhem's" latest effort came this past September, when he submitted Japanese legend Kazushi Sakuraba in the opening round of their DREAM 16 match-up.

Simpson (8-2), meanwhile, recently bounced back from a two-fight losing streak, defeating Mario Miranda via unanimous decision at last month's UFC Fight Night 24.  The Arizona State wrestling stand-out had went unbeaten in seven straight bouts, including three UFC victories, before suffering back-to-back losses against Mark Munoz and Chris Leben in 2010.  Simpson will look to regain momentum when he meets the former Strikeforce title contender this Summer.

UFC 132 is set to take place July 2nd from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The card will be headlined by a Bantamweight title clash between division Champion Dominick Cruz and challenger Urijah Faber, while Light Heavyweights Tito Ortiz and Ryan Bader go head to head in the co-main event.

It is good to see Mayhem back in the UFC--he is a good fighter and has a wacky peronality which bodes well for entertaining fights.

I agree - my only hope for Jason is, that he focuses more for and during the fight. Sometimes, he has a tendency of being too much "the character" or goof-ball.

I watched his fight with GSP again, today and right off the bat when they approached he was mugging Rush and promptly got smacked for it. At this level, you can't go in and do that, particularly with a fighter that is nothing but (all) business; like a GSP or @ 185 any of that whole crew.

I wish him all the best. He is a terrific personality and a great addition to The UFC for the very reason you mentioned; his wacky personality. I just hope that he knows when to be Mayhem and when to be Jason Miller - The fighter, in a fight.

You know lots of the fighters would love to get their hands on the a-holes they get on Bully Beatdown. I'm sure Griffin and Bonnar would both do it. I think I'd be really entertaining watching bullies piss themselves just because Diego Sanchez put on his mean face too.

This is why the UFC is the best best MMA org in the world, SF didn't give him a fight for over a year, he's been with UFC for less than 24 hours and already has a fight.

that's what i've been thinking bout lately. the UFC has really built up Shields to have a chance at GSP. And i know Mayhem's improved since he fought GSP, but i remembered Mayhem having that RNC on Shields. and jake getting saved by the bell. and it only makes me more sure that Shields will get destroyed in this fight. I wish Mayhem would get on the Dolce diet or something and come back to 170 and make a run at the title.
