According to BJPenn.com, multi-time boxing Champion James "Lights Out" Toney will return to Mixed Martial Arts against "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock. The fight will take place on September 23rd in El Paso, Texas, more than a year after Toney's defeat against Randy "The Natural" Couture in the co-main event of UFC 118 in Boston:

BJPENN.COM was the first to learn that James Toney and Ken Shamrock have agreed to face off in an MMA match on Sept. 23 in El Paso, Texas. While details are still emerging about the venue and fight card, the former UFC fighters are going to face off in a heavyweight attraction in what will be James Toney’s second professional MMA bout.

BJPENN.COM confirmed this with both Toney’s manager and Mr. Toney himself this evening via telephone.

Ken Shamrock is 28-15-2 in 18 years of MMA competition, and 3-7 in his last 10 bouts. James Toney is 73-6-3 in boxing, with his last fight taking place this year on February 24th (retained IBA Heavyweight title in a Unanimous Decision against Damon Reed).

Why, if you listen to Shamrock talk he's just fighting now because he enjoys it, he knows he's no where near the fighter he once was or has any chance of beating a contender so what's wrong with that? I like this matchup, Toney wants to fight in mma, these are the kind of guys he should be fighting, I'll definitely watch this illegally online after the fact lol.

and UFC claims theyre not putting on freak shows. what a joke. None of these fighters have anything to gain from this fight.. if shamrock wins, he was supposed to win.. if Toney wins, no one liked shamrock anyway, hes a washed up steroid monkey.

What kind of dumbass do you have to be to get humiliated like James Toney did at UFC 118 and then go back in there and do it again? Is he retarded? On second though, don't answer that.

    Easy victory for Shamrock.

I thought Toney fought the first time for money but he won't be getting paid 6 figures if this is a small show. I wonder how much he gets.
