this is hilarious that boxer's has a chance in mma octagon .. they have no concept of mma .... boxing is 1 demtional fighting mma has 3 there isnt no way a boxer can beat mma fighter
UFC 118 is coming along nicely, really excited for that card, as for Toney, I think he will get outclassed by Couture, Toney is just too old and too slow, I would have given him a chance if he came into MMA like 5-6 yrs ago
I have seen Toney fight, but theres a difference between the Toney who used to box and the Toney now, he's gotten to old and with age his speed has decreased
Couture is quick enough to take Toney to the ground, I don't think his 4 months or w.e MMA training is going to stop Couture from taking Toney to the ground, all Toney has is KO power nothing else, I doubt he has good cardio, there is no way Toney can stay alive on the ground with Couture only thing he can do is try to land a punch, but that strategy doesn't always work i.e. GSP vs Hardy, Kos vs Daley etc
purefight.com....blubady blub...purefight.o.....dot org. wit ya man james toney. Is lak a said, ju put yoa money wer yoa mouf is. its like a said...blubady blub.....
against Timmy. Toney is going to get molested. He will require years of counciling after what Couture is going to do to him. It makes me laugh when people assume that boxers have better striking that MMA fighters. The way they move opens them up to kicks and knees. The way they block only works well with pillows on their hands. They use the clinch to avoid getting hit. They have no idea how to defend against kicks. A couple of years training MMA (if he has that much) isn't going to erase decades of muscle memory. Toney is going to get roughed up.
I certainly hope so but fact is, Couture is getting really old now and his shot wasnt that quick against Vera. Toney very well could knock him out before he gets taken down. But that's what makes the fight interesting.
buddy your a clown, ufc 118 is gonna be his mma debut. it was ray mercer who beat tim sylvia and got submitted by kimbo. get ur facts straight and the people who agreed with you are new to mma aswell. dont know nada!!!!!!!!!!!! (BEAT IT)
I could pick out a little bit of English from whatever it was that Toney was saying... Were James Toney and Barney Frank separated at birth or something?
Seems like a cool guy, but yeah, if he's successful in MMA there's no way he'll go back to boxing.
It's more than likely that Randy will dispose of him easily, but Toney does have a slim chance. He's a defensive boxer and we all know Randy can't land a first to his face so it might be hard to get two hands on his legs without getting tagged. That begin said, Randy is to much of a vet to let that happen I would actually be interested if he just fought some average MMA guy.
Toney needs to be able to out dirty-box Randy, and I don't see that happening. Toney will spend the fight on his back, or pressed against the cage. Randy could foot stomp him, then score the first ever knockout from a shoulder punch.
say what you like but with no MMA technique to speak of, let alone the experience of fighting in a cage, this guy is just going to get taken down and smashed. The chance of him knocking Randy out is there sure, the same punchers chance any fighter has, but that chance is small. It's much more likely that this guy wont be able to stop Randys double leg, even if his life depended on it. Randy is getting old yes but i still think this should be a walk in the park for him............
well we r talkin who can take who down u no wat scares me the fact randy cudnt take vera dwn and jon jones took him dwn with ease.. any ways back to topic i think randy rear naked choke. (stranglers)
Toney is a great boxer and sure talks good, but talk isn't going to stop Randy from dirty boxing him into a hospital stay. As long as Couture stays away from the uppercuts in the clinch,it will be lights out Toney.
the commentator, while spirited, had a bit too much of a different kind of spirit prior to the interview.
Is Randy going to stand with Toney? Yes, enough to lure him into 'his world' then Mr. Lights Out will be thoroughly introduced to the world of MMA.
Now all that being said, never discount a being willing to stake it's existence on it's purpose. Toney is a man with the courage to step up to the plate.
I can't wait for this "throwback" style vs style fight. It's like a lion vs a croc... the question is will the fight stay on the land (the feet) or go to the water (the ground). I'm guessing it's going to the water lol.
How many punches can a boxer throw in the time it takes a wrestler to shoot? Maybe 3 or 4 at the most. Toney better hope at least two of those land because after that he's gonna be on his back in taking the beating of his life.
Wait a minute.....since when has James Tony successfully transitioned from boxing to mma. He hasn't even fought yet...
Like i said for the last couple of months..I want to see an open workout video on how Tony is training and preparing for Randy Couture...
It doesnt mean crap how many titles he has wont...Just kike it dont mean crap how many years Borck Lesner retains his heavyweight belt, Brock would have a tough time going to boxing....no more kicks, knees, takedowns, submissions, etc...
ridiculous...
If randy is as smart of a fighter as everyone thinks, this will go to ground before he first 30 seconds...ground and pound, and then submisson. SON
i think Randy will beat him still, 2 much mma experience but on da other hand Marcus da hand grenade used 2 b a boxer & der is another fighter cant remember his name(was on da ultimate fighter show) & once dey tightened up der mma dey had a little edge cos of der excellent striking. But its all irrelevant Randy is a top class fighter & i dont think der is no way Toney can win unless he gets off a lucky punch!!

Ray Mercer.

James Toney is slow? Maybe you haven't watched him fight
I have seen Toney fight, but theres a difference between the Toney who used to box and the Toney now, he's gotten to old and with age his speed has decreased

He destroyed Sylvia but got destroyed by Kimbo....how sad :P
That was my first thought, after seeing his reply. Kimbo the ultimate test LMAO
buddy your a clown, ufc 118 is gonna be his mma debut. it was ray mercer who beat tim sylvia and got submitted by kimbo. get ur facts straight and the people who agreed with you are new to mma aswell. dont know nada!!!!!!!!!!!! (BEAT IT)
The only plan Toney has is to survive, realy he wont b able 2 hit Randy
But he lost to Kimbo. lol ;)
Ray Mercer beat a fat and slow Tim Sylvia... and Mercer was submitted by Kimbo Slice. Please don't use Mercer as any kind of evidence.
I totaly forgot i already wrote that. LOL
This interviewer is an idiot and he is about to give Toney a BJ.
Who the hell is that moron conducting the interview? I hope he kept his day job and the receipt to that camcorder......
yeah dude I seriously thought he was about to ask Toney to take his pants off right then and there
His plan is to give Randy an astronaut suit so he can send him to space...
I could pick out a little bit of English from whatever it was that Toney was saying... Were James Toney and Barney Frank separated at birth or something?
Seems like a cool guy, but yeah, if he's successful in MMA there's no way he'll go back to boxing.
...is there a translator in the house?
Randy The Captain Of America the way too much experience for the fight
and Toney fatass will learn from there .
I don“t speak freaky ****y dutch Mr. Toney

Randy didn't even get taken down by Brock, he have absolute control over whether or not this is a standing fight.

The reporter is such a ****.

Anything can happen.
What do you think?

Toney plans to shake Couture's hand and congratulate him on the dominating victory after he gets schooled, that's what he plans to do.
I like his front page picture....."Dis iz da finga I juz pigged my nose wif."
How many punches can a boxer throw in the time it takes a wrestler to shoot? Maybe 3 or 4 at the most. Toney better hope at least two of those land because after that he's gonna be on his back in taking the beating of his life.
Irrelevent, but almost thought he flicked the camera off in the leading picture.
