And I like that Shields is already talking about future opponents, that means he's possibly under estimating the Dane, and that might just be a big mistake!!!
i remember GSP was doin a Q&A and some fan asked him bout fighting sheilds, and georges said that in a grappling/BJJ match sheilds would probably beat him but in MMA georges said he'd take him......... it would definitley be an interesting fight, but IMO i think Georges would have more toolsin the box to get the job done
After his match with hendo I feel his control is very strong but it's JJ based control which has been a prob for wrestling guys in the past. We will see. I still favour GSP and Fitch and Kos for decision but I am not holding my breath.
I like Jake - he's a great wrestler and has great JJ, but he doesn't have the stand-up. GSP v. Shields, would be a great fight for Rush to demonstrate his stand-up; not such a great fight for Shields to demonstrate his ground skills.
I agree with Jizzle 11 (above) - he might not make it past Kampman, let alone GSP.
I'd like to see the GSP fight so we could see GSP stand up more. I still think his wrestling would be good enough to win a ground fight with Shields but he would have a large advantage standing up.
if jake and gsp fought, i could see gsp taking jake down and then jake suprises him with a submission with his "ameican" jiu-jitsu. Thats the biggest scenario i see jake winning.
I cannot wait to see that fight. I know a lot of people do not watch MMA for the technical aspect sadly, but I would love to see that match-up play out on the ground.

GSP would undoubtably smash Mr.Jake Shields!!!!!!!!
I personally don't think he'll even get past Kampman

I agree on GSP winning but I think stylistically it is a bad match.
For who? GSP has beat wrestlers. Should be easy for him.

Could be I suppose but he is big and strong and JJ expert that seems to know his way around wrestling.

Shields better work on his striking and his takedown defense...because we ALL know what's going to happen if he doesn't

No way GSP is 2 smart for that 2 happen. Look at the penn fights, no submissions.
gsp is intelligent fighter but this is the closest i see jake possibly winning the fight
I hope he is successful in the UFC. I think he's the second best at welterweight until proven otherwise.
