Today brought some bad news for MMA fans that were hoping for a Carlos Condit versus Jake Ellenberger rematch as the UFC announced that Ellenberger would be facing Martin Kampmann in the main event of “The Ultimate Fighter” 15 finale. Oddly, it was Kampmann who handed Condit his last defeat, beating the current interim Welterweight champion via split decision on April 1, 2009. Condit followed that loss by defeating Ellenberger via split decision in September of the same year.

Since that loss to Condit, Ellenberger has not tasted defeat, winning six consecutive bouts, including a first round knockout of Jake Shields and a unanimous decision over Diego Sanchez.

Kampmann is on a two fight winning streak, defeating Rick Story and Thiago Alves in his last two fights.

The “TUF” 15 finale will take place on June 1 at the Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV.

Kampmann got worked on the feet by Alvez, I got to think Ellenberger will do the same but he has more KO power.

I actually think Ellenberger beats Kampmann in all areas except cardio and submissions but Ellenberger has great sub D.

The only chance I see Kampmann having is surviving the storm and hope Jake gasses, especially since it's a 5 rounder. I don' t think Kampmann will TKO him and Jake will probably take first three rounds so I see Kampmann having to get in a late sub. Sanchez looked like he was on his way to do it so Kampmann may be able to with the extra two rounds.

I think you're underestimating the standup skills of both Kampmann and Alves. Kampmann can definitely win this fight on the feet. If Ellenberger wins this time, it will probably be more because of takedowns and control than dominant standup.

Ellenberger will win this one easily.

first OF ALL kampmann got lucky that thiago alves made a mistake .

And finally, jake's legs are a lot bigger and stronger than martin's . Ellenbeger will take kampmann down easily ,then beat in up from the top position. and get the decision or hopefully the tko

Does the UFC have something against Kampmann, the guy gets no easy fights.

Really, it should be Condit vs Ellenberger 2. While he's waiting for GSP, I hope Carlos doesn't pull a "Rashad", i.e. get injured and then lose out.

Joe Silva: **** Kampmann that asshole always putting on close fights and pulling off upsets. I hate that Dane put him up against Ellenberger now..

Dana White: But Joe, every time we try to get rid of this guy, he ends up beating the favorite we want to win. Alves was a for sure win, and look what happened.

Joe Silva: Well that dumb ass Alves came off the game plan we had talked about... We are running out of options though Dana. Soon we are going to have to pay this guy the money he deserves, and or give him a title shot!!!

Dana White: I don't want to pay him what he deserves, Ellenberger has got to pull through this time.
