Jake Ellenberger is hoping for a "short night" against Diego Sanchez
Posted on February 7, 2012, 06:35 PM by Joey SantosusRapidly rising Welterweight, Jake Ellenberger, who will look to take one step closer to title contention with a victory over Diego Sanchez at UFC on Fuel 1, discusses his opponent, as well as his training and preparation for the bout. Ellenberger acknowledges that Sanchez is a "warrior" inside the cage, but says that he'll look to become the first fighter to finish "The Dream" via strikes.
Jake Ellenberger
"I'm hoping to make this a short night. I'm looking to stop him. That's the only thing that I'm thinking about right now, is just finishing him and proving that I'm the best Welterweight in the world. He's going to be ready, he comes to fight. Every person that he's fought, he's shown that he's a warrior. So, I'm expecting to fight the best Diego Sanchez. ... I've never been someone to do something halfway. When I do something I'm either all in or all out. The only reason that I am competing is to become world champ - that's it. I'm not doing it to get on TV or to make money. To wear a gold strap is the only reason that I compete."

Hardwork paidoff now and Laziness payoff in the near future for Jake to living up to his dream or to have a nightmare by Sanchez (:D
That Jake has big & strong legs like GSP . He will take Sanchez down and Pound him in the body and the face until the referee stoppage
Diego maybe as loony as they come, but he is never a short or easy night.
I agree. No-one has ever run through Sanchez.
Strange as he is, he's got the heart of a lion. If Ellenberger can manage to make quick work of him, they should propel Ellenberger right into the title hunt.
if he gets passed Diego easily... he needs to take on Koscheck or Diaz.
Diego is not even close to the level of Jake
Shields has a hell of a chin and Jake put him on the ground
with the Welterweight version of the H-Bomb
Jake and Rory are the future of the WW division
i see Jake winning this one by TKO in R2
The only thing Jake Sheilds has is a ground game. It doesn't surprise me a striker KOd him even if it was GnP. This whole fight depends on who has the ground control. Usually if Diego gets in there and realizes he cant control his opponent, he wilts.
sanchez looked good vs paulo thiago although he should of lost to kampman (as should sheilds imo) i think jake will take this one via tko he hits like a truck and is ever improving his fight with condit was very close and he dropped condit twice i would love to see a rematch beetwen them materialise soon
Jake E. vs Rory would be cool too.
