"I think Carlos (Condit) has a better chance of beating GSP (than Nick Diaz). But, a fight is unpredictable, you really can't tell. I think Carlos has better chances than some like to give him. No one has beaten GSP in a long time, it doesn't matter who fights him, he's going to be a very hard guy to beat. The way I look at it, when I fight GSP, you have to go in there with no fear and not let him get into his strengths and his strategies. You have to really go after him and pressure him. You can't sit back and try to box him, he's got very good striking and he's quick. But, absolutely, I do believe I am the guy to beat him."

Only way you can beat GSP is if you can predict his timing and whether or not hes going to hit you or take you down or both at the same time.
Might be the next champ
Agreed. I've had my eye on Ellenberger for some time now. Glad to see him moving up the ranks and finally getting some press time. He's an interesting challenge for GSP.
A little bit early to say but i'd say Ellenberger is in line after Diaz and Condit .
Diaz might be the next champ. Condit might be the next champion. Anyone who gets a shot might be the next champ.
It's nice to know at least the fighters have respect from St. Pierre. Haters talk him down but if anyone had the tools to beat him they would have done so by now, at least respect that instead of being like Dan Hardy, getting shillacked then acting like he didn't know what kind of a fight he was gonna get into. Still waiting on Serra's follow-up to his "Dan Hardy is a way superior striker" argument.
seems the only people other than nick diaz who talk shit about GSP are the ones that have fought him and lost.
GSP ..they all gonna do this to him gonna do that to him and he turns it back on them everytime ...I think Diaz will get beat on his feet and beat on the ground.
i just think even if people slag off gsp , he still always has the best game plans and sticks to them! diaz is one tough mother ! but dont think hel beat gsp ,jake will just take it to him which is what i think takes to beat gsp that being said i dont think hes ready yet!!!
I really hope this guy is a champ someday. Has no fear iron chin and finishes fights. Think of this way fellas he did what GSP couldn't do and that was finish jake sheilds. Can't wait till next year for MMA! Gonna be a crazy year!
I like Ellenberger, and he is 5th in the LowKick WW top ten--but he has only fought two fighters in the top ten: Condit and Shields.
Shields has his place in the top ten WWs due to his accomplishments in Strikeforce and a single, questionable win over Kampmann in the UFC.
Not only has Ellenberger not fought 8 of the top tem LowKick WWs, but he also has not fought Anthony Johnson, Dong Hyun Kim, Thiago Alves, Diego Sanchez or Rick Story--the man who beat him in StrikeForce.
I think Jake Ellenberger is a promising fighter, but he still has more to prove by taking on top WWs.
He's been beating top opposition lately, and that is what matters in this game. He may be the next best thing since the wheel; but I don't think it is quite his time yet.Kid has loads of power in his punches. He gave Condit fits in their fight, which he lost by decision. He makes it exciting when he fights- I definately give him that.
