Jake Ellenberger defeats Carlos Eduardo Rocha via a Split Decision
Posted on February 5, 2011, 10:11 PM by Anton GurevichUFC veteran Jake Ellenberger managed to overcome Carlos Rocha's incredible Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills, and leave the Octagon victorious. The fight started in high pace, with Jake Ellenberger scoring an immediate takedown. Rocha fired back submission attempts, but Jake Ellenberger managed to defend well.
Second and Third Rounds saw fighters lowering the pace, as Jake Ellenberger managed to keep the action in stand-up, controlling the fight with jabs and 1-2 combinations. Rocha tried to land a few high kicks, but showed signs of exhaustion and was unable to come back into the fight in full force.
However, one of the judges awarded Rocha a 29-28 victory, but in the end it was Jake Ellenberger who got the other two votes, edging Carlos Eduardo Rocha in a Split Decision. Ellenberger improved his MMA record to 24-5, as Rocha suffered the first defeat of his career, now holding a record of 9-1.

rocha sick ground game but i think he left it all in the first 30-27 wtf it was a easy unanimous decision for jake
Ya but nothing surprises me with some of these judges anymore
Ya Carlos's ground game was sick...didn't think it was that good, the flip to a kimura he pulled off was amazing
The judging system is totally screwed up, the whole thing is rediculous.
Rocha impressed the sh!t out of me with that ground game of his. It's too bad he couldn't tak Jake to the ground, if he did he'd control him like he did in the first round. So Rocha has to work on his takedowns, takedown defense, and strikes.
It looked to me like he gassed after the first. He lost his explosiveness....
me two, but if yu rewatch yu can give the last two to ellenburger, its dissappointing but he's gotta bright future,, his bjj is absolutly sickkkk haha
rocha won the fight
