UFC Welterweight contender Jake Ellenberger will look to extend his unbeaten streak inside the Octagon, facing Martin Kampmann in the main event of TUF: Live Finale on June 1st. Fresh off his victory over Diego Sanchez, Ellenberger is currently 6-1 in the UFC, losing only to the current Interim champ Carlos Condit via Split Decision, back in September 2009. Ellenberger is 27-5 in his MMA career, with 17 KO/TKO and 5 Submission victories.

In my opinion, Jake will fight for the tittle. Saying so I believe he will go through Denish striker and face with the winner of Condit vs GSP. I don't see Kampmann winning against Jake. Jake has both knouckout power and granit chin which Martin lacks. Plus, Ellengerger has strong wrestling base. Therefore is gonna be a dominant desicion or T/KO over the Denish kickboxer

Agree with everything you said there, my only fear is that if Ellenberger doesn't finish him he might end up gassing and Kampmann has no cardio problem.

I think Condit should defend his belt against Jake before Condit fights GSP for the real belt.

    Agree !

    I like Jake Ellenberger.

He is a very skilled and well spoken fighter.

He also has Big ,strong and powerful legs.

I think he will take Kampmann down and GnP him until the ref stopage or the end of the fight.

I think he would crush Condit easily. I really would like to see him vs GSP .

Been on the Ellenberger bandwagon for quite a while now, th now super stacked WW div. has tons of elite fighters but I truly think Ellenberger is the only one with a real shot of dethroning GSP.

The guy has; serious 1 punch KO power, high level of striking (effective coming forward or going back), granite chin, excellent offensive and defensive wrestling, good mind for fighting, sets a high pace and great sub D.

IMO Ellenberger's biggest, and really only, downfall is his cardio. The guy sets a high pace and can keep it going for 2 strong rounds but seems to gas quite a bit in the 3rd and looked dead in the water in his last fight during the last round. Cardio is probably what lost him his fight with Condit and almost cost him the fight with Sanchez. IF he sorts his cardio then he might be the guy that beats GSP.

A five round fight against a tough guy in Kampmann should be a good test as it is probable that he may have to go 5 rounds which will test Jake and show if he is ready for the title fight.

Kampmann is a tough match for anyone at WW gotta agree though his lack of 1 punch knock out power, and his chin (not saying he has a glass jaw, just not one of steel) will be his downfall, on the feet Kampmann has the better technique and his cardio is overwhelming....but I think Ellenberger will out wrestle him and at some point catch him with those heavy hands. The fight I wanna see is Ellenberger vs conduit 2.....Thats one hell of a fight

Id say his chin is on the better side. Paul vs martin for example, how many men could stand after that onslaught

I'd like to see Jake and Condit rematch as well. I wonder if Carlos would employ the same type of "safe" strategy that he discovered in the Diaz fight? Does anyone want to see him fight like that with Jake after the last all out war they gave us the last time they fought? I for one would feel cheated if that were to happen.

I kind of agree with Ellenberger being exposed in the Diego Sanchez bout. While Jake looked great for two rounds, tagging Diego a lot, in the third round, he gassed and was controlled and beat up on the ground.

Kampmann has excellent TDD. Those people who slight Kampmann's wrestling credentials, remember that he held his own against Jake Shields and I thought he won against Shields and Diego Sanchez who also has good wrestling. Whether you agree or not, both of his losses were razor close. Kampmann is good on the ground, but commentators talk most about his striking.

Kampmann is a more technical striker than Sanchez, and has better movement--so if it remains standing, Ellenberger needs to get a KO, because Kampmann may not have Jake's power, but his accuracy and volume will get to Ellenberger. I have seen Ellenberger gas in later rounds a few times--but Kampmann has good cardio.

I'm interested in seeing if Jake has made the proper adjustments in his game to go five rounds.

I think that he will try to hurt and finish Martin early, like in his war with Condit. Condit was able to weather all the storms that Jake brought, and even came back with some storms of his own. That fight is one to watch over and over.

Hope he can go the distance in this. Martin is no pushover.
