Vitor Belfort is out of UFC 122 (i think its his knee again) with Nate Marquardt filling in to fight Yushin Okami.But because Chael Sonnen is suspended and will not get his rematch for the middleweight title in 2011,Vitor may finally get his long awaited and much deserved shot in Sonnen's place against Anderson Silva.Well all we can do is hope!
My question is this,is Vitor's latest injury really the worst thing to happen to his career?

the worst thing that happened to him was prob his sister being kidnapped the day before one of his Couture fights, then bing murdered shortly after. bound to have a long term effect on anyone

ppl myt be saying am to hard on belfort and that ordeal he had to go threw about his sister is awfull.. todd dufee got released jus under a month ago coz he was to injury prome and i think vitor is on the same boat.. thats to injurys inside 5 months that has forced him outa big fights...
There was a lot more to it with Duffee IMO. That guy is a monster, and he has the potential to fight for the HW title one day. They didn't want to lose him. But, I think they wanted to make an example out of him. Theres been so much bs and drama with MMA fighters putting movie-roles before MMA, I think they wanted to squash that. And, it probably worked.

I'd say this would be the worst thing to happen to him in his fight career. An injury after an injury when he's been pretty much given #1 contender status & title shots.
Am I the only one who thinks he faked this injury. Hear me out if he pulls out of the fight with Okami, then who will fight A. Silva? Belfort can fight Silva now, and then the winner of Nate/Yushin can have the 2nd shot at the title.

I agree. But I don't even think he faked it, I think Dana White gave him the idea. Nobody wants to see Nate vs Silva again. We all want to see Vitor in that New Years fight and now we will. It's a conspiracy and a good one at that.
He never wanted to fight in Germany anyway...

Vitor is not injured. He is going to fight anderson for the title and the winner of marquart and okami are next.
