Both these guys are insanely talented. Brian Stann's had problems with wrestlers and guys that can outmuscle him in the past, so I'm curious to see if that's Chael's strategy.

But if Brian can keep it on the feet, then no doubt I have to give him the edge. Ultimately though, if Chael can breeze through guys like Okami, Marquardt, and Anderson (up until the fifth round that is), then I'm sure he can beat Stann. I'm not writing Stann off though. Not by a long shot.

He doesnt stop giving excuses for this fight. This tells me he thinks he's gonna lose. Too bad, I wanted to see him geting owned by AS instead...

I like this fight. It's a serious step up for Stann because we all know Chael is no slouch. And for Chael, Stann is a real deal competitor for him to throw down with after such a long lay off. I'm glad they didn't match Sonnen up with with some lower tier guy for his comeback. And even though I get no small amount of joy from Sonnen's usual barrage of pre fight hype, it is a bit refreshing to see him just focused on the fight and not the talk.

Stann has obviously done well at middle weight, but he has not faced a top quality wrestler in that division. At least not one of Sonnen's caliber. Chael is a big MW but maybe not as big as Phil Davis who thoroughly dominated Stann in the wrestling department. If one is rooting for the "All American", they better hope that he has truly improved his wrestling and takedown defense skills as much as he's claimed. Chael hasnt been beat via TKO since '04, which also makes it tough case for a knock out for Stann.
