Hendo: Anderson Silva's injuries will heal real quick if they offer him Michael Bisping

Multi-time Mixed Martial Arts Champion Dan "Hendo" Henderson shared his perspective on the current situation around the #1 Contender spot in the UFC Middleweight division. According to Henderson, Anderson Silva's shoulder injury will heal immediately if he's offered to fight Michael "The Count" Bisping in his next title defense. Henderson stated that Silva's injuries are used as an excuse to avoid the rematch against him or his Team Quest ally Chael Sonnen":

Dan Henderson also gave his 2 cents about the somewhat disappointing main event bout between Michael Bisping and Jason Miller, claiming that the two looked more like TUF cast members than coaches. Henderson earned his bragging rights over Michael Bisping back at UFC 100, after famously knocking out "The Count" in Round 2. Two years later, it seems like the former PRIDE two-divisional champion is still more than happy to address his thoughts about the Brit.

Dan Henderson is currently 29-8 in his MMA career, currently enjoying an impressive streak of four high-caliber victories. UFC President Dana White recently confirmed that Dan Henderson can get a title fight in both UFC Middleweight and Light Heavyweight division. However, "Hendo" was quoted more than once about his intentions to stay at 205.

Here's an idea, maybe Silva doesn't want to give the massive paydays, PR, and a shot at the belt he's worked so hard for to guys who disrespect him and mouth off like spoilt brats who are still raw because he beat them fair and square. What's the point of fighting someone who won't admit defeat even after you've beaten them?

Well your first mistake is thinking that fighters get paid more depending on who they fight, Sonnen gets paid the same no matter who he fights. Silva however gets a cut of the PPV so its in his financial interest to get interesting fights.

see bisping may be a douchebag but he's been fighting his way to the top rather than trying to talk his way to the top like hendo and sonnen. and btw idk if you watched the first hendo fight but silva schooled him.

when you leave the division or company and then come back you don't get to keep your spot. you work you way back to the ****ing top.

When have you ever heard Silva call out any fighter? The fighters don't decide who they fight, Dana White does. I can see Silva not wanting to line Sonnen's pockets when he (Sonnen) failed a drug test, talked his way back into a fight and Silva really don't like him.

And that's why Dan Henderson is the ****ing man!

he say it as it is. of course Silva wants Bisping, he got lucky enough to beat Belfort so now he wants easy fights just like he always do.

beats 1 worthy fighter and then 4 bumps to build a fake legacy.

now he beat overrated Okami and now wants an even easier fight Bisping and after that he will want Munoz retire and say he was the best by beating average fighters.

Dont be scare and fight Chael Sonnen!!!!!!!!!

Hendo was winning that fight , he just made 1 mistake

when he try to elbow Silva while on his back and that was it.

But now it doesnt matter since we all know Hendo is at is best at 205

a division where Silva will never fight any Top 10 fighter because he is scare shitless to fight worthy fighters

he wont even fight Chael Sonnen who can be summit by blue belts

Hendo was winning that fight, because only the first round counts! Sure he missed his taedowns in the second, landed punches that silva walked threw and got blasted to the ground before a submission....he took silva down in the first and thats what counts!

That doesnt matter though, hendo is at his best outside the UFC where coward silva wouldn't go because we all know he's weakest against second-rate fighters, just look at his losses! Hendos a real man and not afraid to go everywhere but the UFC to be a champion, just like everyone else on the pride hype boat.(sadly, silva jumped off)

Silva has beaten all the top contenders in spectacularly epic fashion so wtf are you talking about Daniel??!! His touch is as soft as the jab that knocked out the former LHW champ you Silva hating douche bag. Think about what is 'really' driving you to say things before you open your jealous, envious mouth.

I would agree with Hendo only because I think Anderson knows he can't beat Chael or Hendo if he's injured especially after almost losing to Chael the first time trying to fight through injuries, I believe he wants to be 100% to fight him next time but I think he would have fought bisping with the injury just like he did okami because he's better everywhere than bisping n Anderson knows that

what ****ing injuries ? a sore rib?

do you know what the **** means to be sore?

im sore when i go to the gym and lift weights after a few weeks of not going , but that doesn't mean im injuried.

I still can do what ever i want to, its no excuse to be manhandle

by a better fighter, GSP groin injury was a Real injury yet he manage to fight for 2 rounds and win. stop with the stupid excuses he got manhandle and manage to pull a lazy submission to get the official win at the end.

But with that being said i can undertand his fear of a rematch

its just embarrasing to see fans calling the best MMA fighter in the planet, when he is scare of another fighter in his same division and still having dozens of better fighters in 2 other weight classes LHW , HW

TO THE AMERICAN MMA FANS!!.. THE UFC IS FINALLY AT A GLOBAL POINT!!. BRAZILIANS AND OTHER FOREIGN FANS HAVE BEEN COMING TO WATCH THERE FIGHTERS IN THE STATES FOR YEARS, AND THEY BRING THERE FLAG AS A REPRESENTATION OF WHERE THERE FROM...

I ATTENDED UFC139 AND TO MY SURPRISE I WAS THE ONLY FAN WAVING AN AMERICAN FLAG. I WAS ASHAMED THERE WERE MORE FLAGS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES IN OUR HOME! MMA HAS ALWAYS BEEN A GLOBAL SPORT, ITS TIME THE AMERICAN FAN BASE CHANGES ITS PERSPECTIVE ON HOW OUR AMERICAN FIGHTERS REPRESENT OUR COUNTRY, AND WE AS FANS SHOULD BE PROUDLY SHOWING OUR COLORS SHOWCASING THAT AMERICAN FANS ARE BEHIND OUR FIGHTERS!.

MMA IS A SPORT, BUT THREW TRADITION AND CULTURE ITS MUCH MORE.

Silva would take about a minute to watch Bisping, then systematically pick him apart and drop him just like he did Okami and Griffin......it would be fun to watch for sure. Silva knows that Bisping will stand and trade, because it's all Bisping really has to offer.

But, in my opinion, Silva is ducking the Sonnen rematch for as long as possible, because he truly believes that Sonnen can and will beat him this time. Sonnen is probably the strongest MW on the planet, and I don't know why people think that he's not.

Sonnen is not stronger than Munoz or Stann. He beat Stann. Strength is not the issue. The fact of the matter is that Sonnen is far too easy to submit to be champ for long if he did take the title. At this point it does appear that he may be ducking Sonnen but really, AS wins 8 out of 10 times if he is healthy.

Just nuthuggers making things up like they always do. Dan hit silva head on a few times in their fight and you have to go in slow motion to even tell silva got hit since there's no real reaction. he landed ONE takedown in the first round, did marginal damage, and then came out in the second to get rocked and then tried to turtle to avoid getting KO'd. Now he thinks he should be able to whine his way to an instant title shot like he did last time he was in the UFC?

Uhhh we all know the sonnen story...hating on silva won't bring back the "omg fedor is unbetabull" guys so trade in your computers for bird feed.

soft touch is a phrase man, im not questioning his skills what so ever. and as for jealous? of course man. Silva is a millionaire fighter with one of the best skill sets in the world.

My only problems are with him trying to duck certain fights. EG: looking for easier fights, while trying to get away from the Chael rematch, or even the Hendo rematch.

He seems content to look for fights he can win. Damien Maia? lets be honest, world class BJJ, but silva was always gonna win it. Thales Lietes? Patrick Cote? yeah, ill give you forrest griffin, Chael and Belfort, but since then he's had a very winable fight with Okami and now he wants Bisping? Cmon man, there's being a fan, and being realistic!

well anderson silva called bisping just before the sonnen fight. that happened. the guy is a monster fighter but as a champion that is supposed to be for many the greatest ever he is really lame. if he is the greatest ever he should fight any one they put him in front. especially if the guy beat him for 23 minutes and talk shit about his wife.

maybe GSP isnt as good as AS but he is a true champion. he will fight who ever they put him. and when nick diaz disrespect him 5% of what sonnen disrespect AS he himself asked dana for a fight with diaz.

thats what a champion does... not that ridiculous and lame scary comments from AS.

Ok mr special. You go out and call silva down for making a statement about fighting a guy who EARNED a title shot BEFORE bigmouth he BEAT was even on google, but GSP who was talking about fighting silva for like 3 YEARS now is a real champion because he fights anyone? WTF! GSP called out jake shields to fight him loooong after he was supposed 2 fight silva. Not only was shields in a different organization, he was in a different weight class and hadnt fought at WW in years! That made NO sense at all and was real life dodging and it continues to happen.

Meanwhile silva isn't responsible for fight selection because he doesn't own the freaking company, so obviously he's going to fight whoever they throw at him in HIS organization,in HIS division...boohoo.

dont try to lie... GSP never called shields. it was shields who decided to go down to WW on the ufc. GSP only said that he was looking for that fight for years. and if it was the case that GSP called shields. he came from 15 victories over many talented opponents. you cant compare him with bisping with his 4 win streak over dan miller, akiyama, mayham and rivera and previously losing to wand.

the only stupid thing over here is you trying to compare shields moment to bispings moment and also trying to say that okami was a tough fight for AS because he beat him!!

anyway just remember how shields completely dominated your very talented contender OKAMI

after sonnen fight he said he wanted to fight bisping and not sonnen. by that time they were supposed to fight at new years event and they didnt knew that sonnen was on roids. this was on september of 2010 and bisping was 2 and 2 on his last 4 fights. having lost one with wanderlei, being destroyed by hendo and 2 wins against akiyama and dan miller.

it was ridiculous to really believe that he deserved more a title shot than sonnen that was 3 and 1 on his last 4 fights with wins over marquaid and okami (both really high ranked) and lost against AS after he destroyed him for 23 minutes.

its obvious that anderson didnt want a rematch against sonnen even before the roids thing.

That,if anything, is probably what silva meant wheen he said that bisping(who has fought and won again and again to try for a title shot) is more deserving than cheater who's got one win since losing and talks alot. Sonnen is the more important fight, but some people take ANY little thing said as an excuse to hate because they can't find any ACTUAL ways to criticize AS since he doesn't lose.

so someone that hasnt had a win over a top 10 fighter in his life should deserve a title shot before a guy that 2 years ago KOd him and is on currently 4 fight winning streak being babalu, feijao, fedor and shogun???

im 100% that only feijao by himself will destroy dan miller, akiyama, rivera and mayhem on the same night.

    tell me this??? for you

d miller, mayham, rivera and akiyama > babalu, feijao, fedor and shogun????

does it matter that he hasnt fought on the division for a while?? so carlos condit decides to go to lightweight a guy like edson barboza will deserve first the title shot than him??

I guess they lasted longer but Kenny didnt come close to really winning he lost pretty lopsidedly but Hendo was easily winning the fight against Anderson and against Rampage it was a close decision which Hendo could have won

Against Rampage, it was a close fight. Against Anderson, it was not. He grabbed a ten night first round by burying his head in Anderson's chest on the ground doing literally nothing with top control. In the second he tried to trade a little bit, and got hammered for it.

Maybe Hendo should look for another shot at Jake Shields at 185 before looking to go against Anderson again there. He'd have a better chance. Put him up against Rampage, Rashad, Jones, or Machida at 205 and he'd get wasted. Hell, he literally laid on his back mounted for the entire 5th round against Rua and somehow got away with a 10-9 there.

Also, I will say that Anderson MIGHT be milking his injury a little bit. But, it ain't because of Dan. I bet Anderson would fight Dan 10 times before wanting to get back into the cage against Chael.

rampage, rashad, jones or machida wouldnt had survived round 1 or 3 if hendo landed those H bombs on them

that fight went to a 5th round because shogun has an iron chin.

anyone nowadays that fights hendo at 205 must really be worried to get connected by him.

or you run the entire fight and go for take downs and tire him up or you better have a shogun chin... if not your going to sleep

i do believe AS has an iron chin and will destroy hendo at 185 but fighting him at 205 will be another deal

HAHAHA! Sharp and funny from Hendo.

Think about Silva's injury. The "injury" supposedly occurred a month before he fought Okami. Didn't really seem to bother him much in the match, did it? So how bad could it be?

It didn't need surgery, but now his camp is saying he won't fight until may or June. That is what they call, in medical circles, bullshit. Either it was bad enough to need surgery, or could be rehabbed in 3-4 months.

In Anderson Silva speak "rehab" = FU to the UFC.

Not true bro. I got my elbow popped training and it was so bad that picking up a cup of coffee hurt. I did not need surgery but it took six months to rehab it to the point where simple acts weren't excruciating. I was able to use my arm and train a little but there is no way I would have gone into a fight with it.

Being a runner and martial artist as well as a physician I can tell you that you are both right. Most sports injuries I see are healed in 3-4 mths. The problem is the shoulder. If it is a rotator cuff tendonitis then most punches will aggravate it. i.e. if he trains he won't get better. He would then need time to heal and then more time to get back into punching shape again.

I broke my fibula last summer (2010) training hills for a hilly marathon. That was July. I couldn't run again until the end of December. But then again, I'm old by comparison.

btw dana white had a point in putting hendo vs shogun instead of a title shot with silva. dan even said there is only 1 fight at middleweight he wants and thats silva. whats the point in giving a title fight to someone who plans on leaving the division after that fight

Well Anderson has fought in the 205 class and I'm sure if Dana gave Hendo a title shot at Middlewieght and he dethroned silva, he would stay at 185. So there are options.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, Hendo included. I think this outburst is probably to try and and to heap pressure on Silva to face Sonnen again, not from jealousy or bitterness, though only Hendo knows his true feelings. I don't take him for the jealous bitter type, but I could be wrong.

How long can a fighter be inactive and keep the #1 spot on the P4P list? Almost a year? I don't think so.

A dominant performance by either GSP or Jones in their next fight, and either would move past the Spider P4P.

And if he doesn't fight again until mid 2012, the Anderson Silva era is over. Even Bisping might hand him his ass.

You really need to do some research before making comments. This is your second one today that's horribly inaccurate.

Andersons last fights were 4 months ago, and 5 months before that, 6 months before that.4 months before that.

There's no "Almost a year", the closest was half a year, so your speaking BS.

On that note, GSP has been less active than Silva. How come you are hyping him up instead of complaining about him?

Hendo is funny and I have to agree with both of his twitter posts. Silva needs a big matchup now or never because he can't keep facing everybody else than Sonnen or Hendo. And yes the main event truly looked like a normal tuf fight.

Silva should fight Bisbing as a tune-up fight for his shoulder rehab. That way he stays active and doesn't add insult to the injury by fighting Sonnen. I think Dan was just lending ole Chael a hand by putting in his two cents. Kind of keeping the fire hot for AS, trying to get under his skin a little bit more.
