Hector Lombard: I want to fight Anderson SilvaPosted on April 28, 2012, 05:23 PM by Anton Gurevich
Hector Lombard, made his first statement after joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship by calling out the reigning Middleweight champ Anderson Silva. Lombard spoke about his respect for Anderson Silva as a fighter, but made it clear that he wants to fight "The Spider".
The Cuban-Australian KO artist is 31-2-1 in his MMA career, with 18 first round finishes. However, MMA experts are somewhat sceptical about Lombard's chances to fight for the UFC Middleweight title, not speaking about breaking into the mix. The identity of Hector Lombard's first opponent in the UFC is yet to be determined, but it looks like Brian Stann could be the one to welcome "Shango" to the Octagon.
"I want to be UFC middleweight champion, and I want to fight Anderson Silva to do it. I have such respect for him as a fighter. It would be an honor and a dream come true to test my skills against his. I've wanted to fight in the UFC all my career. I wouldn't be in the UFC if I didn't think I could win the UFC world title." - MMAJunkie.com
