Georges St. Pierre talks rehab and why Nick Diaz is a very smart individual
Posted on February 1, 2012, 07:38 PM by Trent ReinsmithGeorges St. Pierre was present at the today’s UFC 143 open workouts and took some time to discuss a multitude of topics including where he stands in his rehab, the type of training that he is moving toward as he recovers from his ACL surgery, surgery that will prevent him from training until July.
St. Pierre also says that he will be rooting for Nick Diaz to defeat Carlos Condit this weekend as Diaz and his trainer, Cesar Gracie have give him motivation to fight him. St. Pierre also heaped a great deal of praise on Diaz, repeating many times over that he is a “very smart,” and that he does “not believe Nick Diaz is a bad human being.”
St. Pierre also says that he has patterned his persona after Wayne Gretzky and that even though he wants to fire back when he is on the receiving end, but that he stands for something bigger than himself.
The two videos present an interesting look at the UFC Welterweight Champion and brings us all up to speed as to what he has been up to since undergoing his knee surgery in December.

Diaz is going to win then...he is going to lose. Bwaaa ha ha ha ha
mannn most ppl dont realize that Daiz and GSP came up the same way
both turned to boxing and MMA to turn away from crime and street influences that get you prison or killed alot of ppl look a Daiz and relate
or see the hard times and know it from how hard streets and gangs get
in America But thats what makes GSP who and WHAT he is today he grew up poor,.. look streets in other countries are just as if not more dangerous,... and had huge tragedies in life the guy who help keep him
from crime and drugs died when he was like 12 or 13yrs, ..which made him stay busy went to BJJ and boxing he even got his brown belt from
another Gracie (Renzo) ..LOOK the Streets and his Tragedies are not what he is its not what defines him...,, and Nicks is thats what he uses
to make him who he is.. in a 30min FOX interview with GSP it most likely will be talk about his training guys he trains with and will have more of a FAMILY hard working take to it...and to be honest Daiz will be close to the same thing but in his there will always be something about how he is like that cause is how he came up (street) he portrays himself that way
with GSP its not an excuse he is the way he is cause he truly has respect for ppl and does want kids to know you dont have to be 'THAT" way
I was with you right up until you said that streets in Canada can be just as bad if not worse than those in America. That's when I stopped reading and hit weak.
So do you think GSP is trying to bring Nick's hate level down for him?
Hes picturing Diaz TKOing Condit and the microphone in Nick's hand again.
I would guess GSP isn't thinking about what Diaz is thinking or doing at all. His MO is he doesn't react to fighters, he makes them react to him.
If he's bringing anyone's hate level down, I'd say it's how own.
Nick made him lose his cool, and now that he's cooled down, he's trying to balance some of the negative things he said.
Nick hasnt even started the warfare yet. Wait until hes in the cgae with him. GSP better harden up for that event.
GSP seems hungry for this possible fight with Diaz. But it only works if he gets by Condit.
I like the Champ GSP. But It apparently occurred to be injured and the situation so intense due to Nick get into his head and coming back from ring rust ...I'll say Diaz or Condit will dethrone GSP .After that he such a talented fighter, I'll believe he be able bounces back from lost.IMO
My prediction is that, at some point, GSP will say this is the greatest challenge he has ever faced.
And that is why he will win, I think.
Nick's gotta get through carlos first. This whole year is gonna be awesome!
I don't understand the last comment about Nick not waiting very long if he wins to fight GSP. "He just needs to take a little vacation." Really? He just said he would not fight THIS year. So Nick has to wait a whole year to fight? That's BS.
Uhhhh....he said he may fight in October or November....that's this year,am I wrong?!
I thought he said in a "year" but I guess he meant from his last fight so yea, you're probably right about that. 8 months then- still a long time and certainly NOT "a couple of months."
If GSP fights in November, it will have been about a year and a half since he's fought. It is not as big a deal when you are not champion, because you can fight your way back into contention. However, when you are the champ and you have been out that long, it is not usually a good idea to fight a top contender like Diaz or Condit right off the bat. Those fights are tough even on your best day!!!!!!!!!
so is he say nick is being fake..? i think george can actually see someone beating him so this is gsp's way of acting out.. i dont think gsp is scared i just think his like wow i have to fight a real fighter.
