Watching George around the 5:00 minute mark when he's turning the front head lock into a guillotine made me think..
"George would never do that" ... and it kind of dissapoints me, we've seen George in positions like that so much, and while it's possible he could go for a sub and finish the fight he's too afraid to give up the position.
I'm a massive GSP fan but you're unfortunately right. And it's especially ridiculous because he's also king of regaining position, idiot needs to realise that even if he gives up control to go for a sub and loses position, he's ****in GSP, he'll be able to regain control in seconds. I just want him to stay on his feet and start knockin ****ers out again, Shields needs to be the first step back onto that demolition train.
The MMA judging system is to blame for that, not Georges. The reward of finishing the fight is far outweighed by the risk of losing. There are major endorsement deals for only two or three guys in MMA. He is one of those guys right now. Lose and it's gone.
Doing it in training and doing it in the octagon are 2 things. He probably didn't go for it in the octagon yet cause he is or hasn't been confident enough with it and needed to perfect his craft more.
Why is GSP the best in the world? because no one trains themselves as well as this guy, watching this.... just reminded me of how screwed shields is, GSP is on a different planet to everybody.
