Yes, Freddie knows what he is doing but BIAS ad f*ck. When has GEP ever knocked anybody the F*ck out? NEVER. I see KOS with more of a chance at getting the KO. Also, GSP trained with Roach for 2 days!? LMAO! Common now...

because position and take down defense are so important in MMA. I think "stiffness" is important at times. But being loose is good for striking. I worry it might be to much a change for GSP. However look at BJ penn you can see a fighter who fights "loose" and excels in positioning and takedown defense. So if GSP can incorporate it like that then it should only be an improvement.

Arlovski was doing great against Fedor until he threw that flying knee and at the post fight interview with Roach, Roach said that the flying knee was not in the fight plan..

I agree. Boxing is a whole different world. The striking is too different. Didn't help Arlovski much. I think Kos will be very excited for this fight, and he does seem to want it a lot. I think GSP is faster, but if Kos can find his timing (which is hard) he can defiantly take this fight. Ground work is a toss up, Kos is just as good as GSP on the ground, they both can nullify each others ground game. Think the ref will stand em up a lot during this fight.

I think GSP will take this but I think his punchers chance is no better than one from Kos regardless of a few months with Freddie. If GSP sticks with Freddie for a few more fights we will see then a much improved boxer from GSP. Boxing seems easy to most MMA fans but to get it all together and work in harmony will not happen over a few months. I did a few years of boxing and it was great and an amazing base for strikes but it was not as simple as learning 8 moves.

Then again some people are freaks and are pure naturals. GSP seems more like a hard worker like Fitch though and not so much like a BJ Penn who is born into it.

First - Freddie Roach is "The Man". The fact that he seems to have taken to GSP and is interested in continuing the relationship, bodes poorly for the rest of the division and even 185; when Rush moves up.

To the stiffness - you can't hit anything that's moving hard, that's moving fast, if you're stiff. As a big GSP fan, I will concede the point, he's stiff or has been. To throw devastating power you need kinetic energy and you can only achieve that through speed; a grain of sand moving at a fraction of the speed of light, would go through any object you could name, like a hot knife through butter; big arms, shoulders and all that means nothing, if it's not accompanied by speed. Slow is simply slow.

If Roach can make / has made GSP more fluid, then he has made GSP more powerful. If The Champ has added Kinetic power to his arsenal (and improved his footwork), then look out. GSP with the ability to translate his "gym" power into "striking" power, will be wicked to watch; if it happens.

And we should remember that Rush knocked both Fitch and Alves down with a punch to the head. What that proves is that George can get in, deliver a good, clean, heavy shot, but it's....just...not quite there. The difference between knocking a man down with one shot and knocking him out, is not much.

If GSP could / would knock out Koscheck, then that would be one big and early Christmas present, for me. :-)

    Should Read:

..you can't hit anything hard, that's moving fast, if you're stiff.

My apologies to those who care about literary accuracy. :-)
