Frankie Edgar is tired of thinking about Gray MaynardPosted on August 18, 2011, 10:20 PM by Joey Santosus
Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar, who will go head to head with Gray Maynard at UFC 136, discusses his opponent and provides an update on his nagging injuries. Edgar admits that he's grown tired of thinking about Maynard, but says that it provides additional motivation ahead of their third bout.
"(To prepare for Gray Maynard) I work on the things that I'm good at and try to stay away from things that he's good at. Obviously, not let him use his size and push me around. We've been in there so long with each other there's not really to many secrets. I think it's going to be who makes the better adjustments this next fight... I'm very anxious. We were supposed to fight at the end of May, so Gray has been on my mind since before January, preparing for that fight. Everyday you wake up, you're thinking about this guy. It'll be nice to be able to put this all aside. I feel like you get tired of them, it helps motivate you also. You get a little chip on your shoulder about the whole situation."
